89:19 Of old thou didst speak in a vision to thy faithful one, and say: "I have set the crown upon one who is mighty, I have exalted one chosen from the people. Christ was "among the people" so that He might know our needs and sympathize with us. In all our sorrows we have His sympathy. Temptation, pain, disappointment, weakness, weariness, poverty - He knows them all, for He has felt them all. Remember this, Christian, and let it comfort you.
However difficult and painful your road may be, it is marked by the footsteps of the Savior. Even when you reach the dark valley of the shadow of death and the deep waters of the surging Jordan, you will find His footprints there. Wherever you go, He has gone. Each burden we have to carry has at one time been laid on the shoulders of Jesus Christ. Charles Spurgeon Morning by Morning |
