Takin' Care of Business
You get up every morning From your alarm clock's warning

Take the 8:15 into the city

There's a whistle up above

And people pushin', people shovin'

And the girls who try to look pretty

And if your trains on time

You can get to work by nine

And start your slaving job to get your pay

If you ever get annoyed

Look at me I'm self-employed

I love to work at nothing all day

And I'll be...

Taking care of business every day Taking care of business every way I've been taking care of business, it's all mine Taking care of business and working overtime Work out
If it were easy as fishin'

You could be a musician

If you could make sounds loud or mellow Get a second-hand guitar

Chances are you'll go far If you get in with the right bunch of fellows

People see you having fun Just a-lying in the sun

Tell them that you like it this way
It's the work that we avoid And we're all self-employed We love to work at nothing all day

And we be... Taking care of business every day Taking care of business every way I've been taking care of business, it's all mine Taking care of business and working overtime
O.K.. So this wasn't exactly a blog that edifies the body. The truth is that life can get pretty mundane sometimes. I think of this song a lot when I am walking to the train station and then taking the morning commute to downtown Atlanta. Sometimes I feel like I am programmed like some sort of robot. It can get old real fast. But praise God that I do have a job, for that I am grateful.
But I also know that I don't just work for man, I work for God!
And whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men;
Knowing that of the Lord ye shall receive the reward of the inheritance: for ye serve the Lord Christ.
I find quit a few opportunities during the day to be a witness even if it's just reading my bible on the train ride, or buying some homeless guy lunch.
We all have business to take care of. We are of course in the world. Not of it, but in it. And we can mix all that "busy-ness" with taking a little time each day to be about our Father's business too!
...........I must be about my Father's business....
