3:11 I indeed baptize you with water unto repentance: but he that cometh after me is mightier than I, whose shoes I am not worthy to bear: he shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost, and [with] fire: This verse is important to me. This baptism has drawn me closer to the Lord and has made me more effective for Him. If you are a Christian you can recieve this. It wasn't something that was only intentioned for the people back in the first century! I believe that is what Peter was telling in Acts 2:39 2:39 For the promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, [even] as many as the Lord our God shall call. |
