only one day ! you say to honor and praise Him " !---Well I disagree --I am a Seven days adventist (not 7th --lol)and I REST all 7 days Surely it is a Spiritual Rest , but thats the most important kind, the real kind --the former rest , the sabeth was just a shadow of the future , I am sure you realize that to keep a certain day smacks of legalism (What's next TITHING or a certain length of hair or you certainly Must visit Jeruselem! ) Excerpt begins- - -- . . . . . Much better is the rest of faith concerning our justification; the rest of faith concerning our position in Christ Jesus; the rest of faith concerning our identification with Christ in death, resurrection and ascension. Each step established in the rest of faith brings us to the next one . Each must be settled before the next can be rested upon. It can not be stated too strongly that unless the believer is firmly established in the steps of Romans 1-5, they CANNOT TRULY ENTER AND REST UPON THE TRUTHS OF ROMANS 6-8-- No matter how many special meetings and conferences they attend or so-called revivals he becomes involved in . -------------**----------------**-------- "Dr. James of Albany, who was used to bring hundreds into the deeper truths, declared that he usually found that 'failure in the higher stages of the Christian life was due to imperfect understanding and acceptance of the gospel of salvation in its fundamental principles. ' It is a rare thing to be able to sit down and teach, because in most settings today one is limited to dealing with 'the 1st principles of the Oracles of God'; and can go little further than the basic facts of the new birth. You Cannot Deepen Spiritual Life That Is NOT There! You will only build askew if the foundations are not properly laid! A lack of appreciation of the wonder of a FULL salvation in the Annointing He left us (Christ )and reckoning on the deeds He accomplished , OPENS THE DOOR TO EVERY KIND OF OVERBALANCE, AND SPELLS CONTINUAL FRUSTRATION AND FAILURE" -I hope this excerpt from The Green Letters by Myles J. Stanford gives you more confidence in your Rest in 2009 Jon

I thank you for your comment..but I think you misunderstood me..of course we can take rest every day...and I do...all I was attempting to do is praise God for Sunday....this world just keeps getting faster and more out of control to the point you can't even tell Sunday from any other day. I am sorry you misunderstood me....and don't forget that God commanded us to keep the sabboth holy....noone can change that....and even went as far as commanding those who didn't keep the commandment should be killed....no matter who we are, we cannot change what God has commanded...Exodus 35:2 says....

Six days shall work be done , but on the seventh day there shall be to you an holy day, a sabbath of rest to the LORD: whosoever doeth work therein shall be put to death .

and don't forget...it is also one of the ten commandments.......meant to honor God....it is not just a day for us to have rest from work, but in not working or doing other things on that day, we honor God....

thank you, again, for your comment and God bless!
