LETTER TO THE EPHESIANS THE MONTHLY NEWSLETTER OF EPHESUS BAPTIST CHURCH Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ. (Ephesians 1:2) May 2009 The month of May contains two very important holidays for us to commemorate. The first is Mother’s Day on May 10. On this special occasion we honor those many women who have undertaken their God-given responsibility to nurture and raise children. Our church is filled with many wonderful mothers, grandmothers, and mother-like figures who are worthy of our honor and respect for all that they have done and continue to do for God’s kingdom. Praise God for all the women who serve and pray for our church. The other major holiday in May is Memorial Day on May 25, a time for us to solemnly remember those who have gone before us, especially in service to their country. We have so much to be thankful for in our nation and in our church, none of which would be possible were it not for the faithful soldiers that have paved the way for us. Remember these with grateful hearts on this and every day. For many the Memorial Day weekend unofficially kicks off the start of the summer season. We have several tremendous events in store for Ephesus this summer. Of course there is the annual homecoming service known as “June Day Meeting” to be held on June 14, and Vacation Bible School which will be July 27-31. Go ahead and mark your calendar for these two important summer opportunities for worship, service, and fellowship. Finally, May marks the one-year anniversary of my tenure as pastor of this great congregation. Not a day goes by where I do not thank God for bringing me to Ephesus. Words cannot express how much joy I have received ministering here. May the Lord continue blessing all of us as we pray and as we seek to advance the Kingdom of Christ in our community and throughout the world.
In Christ,
Bro. Todd Ephesus BAPTIST CHURCH “Where yesterday meets today,To impact eternity” |
