| Considering the source… |
|
| |
Accusations can come from anywhere, even the most trusted friends or family members. And when these accusations are completely false, we see a sure sign of the real source......
6:12 For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world, and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.
Clearly Satan would love to destroy our effective witness for Jesus, our ministry (or ministries), and even our entire life if he can! But if he falls short in these areas, I’m sure he would gladly settle for simply ruining a few of our personal relationships. In fact, what better way to extinguish the message of a wondrously relational God, than to expose the inability of his supposed followers to relate to others! Particularly with those whom we should most easily relate, our family members and fellow believers!!!
Our loved ones, even the ones in God’s family too, can indeed be deceived and used by the devil to hurt us. And the wounds they are able to inflict are probably the most grievous we’ll ever experience. However, no matter how false the accusation, no matter how painful the betrayal, responding with anger and resentment is still precisely what our Adversary wants! Repaying initial evil with yet more evil is always ok with him!
The best solution by far is to overcome evil with good, to repay evil with blessing, even to turn the other cheek. YET ANYBODY THINK THIS IS EASY????
Well, I don’t know about easy, but it does become possible if only we can remind ourselves where these accusations come from in the first place. For this reason, I'm all the more determined to consider the real source of accusations, and find a way to bless...

We are going to be falsely accused, ridiculed and anything else the devil can think of to keep us unfocused on what is really important - Shining HIS LIGHT. It hurts, it hurts really bad especially coming from family and trusted friends. However we must stay focused, prayed up and walking in the WORD.... The truth shall set you free.
Love you Bro... Tell Sherlock to shine for me on that stage(LOL)..... |

13:1 If I make use of the tongues of men and of angels, and have not love, I am like sounding brass, or a loud-tongued bell. 13:2 And if I have a prophet's power, and have knowledge of all secret things; and if I have all faith, by which mountains may be moved from their place, but have not love, I am nothing. 13:3 And if I give all my goods to the poor, and if I give my body to be burned, but have not love, it is of no profit to me. 13:4 Love is never tired of waiting; love is kind; love has no envy; love has no high opinion of itself, love has no pride; 13:5 Love's ways are ever fair, it takes no thought for itself; it is not quickly made angry, it takes no account of evil; 13:6 It takes no pleasure in wrongdoing, but has joy in what is true; 13:7 Love has the power of undergoing all things, having faith in all things, hoping all things. 13:8 Though the prophet's word may come to an end, tongues come to nothing, and knowledge have no more value, love has no end. 13:9 For our knowledge is only in part, and the prophet's word gives only a part of what is true: 13:10 But when that which is complete is come, then that which is in part will be no longer necessary. 13:11 When I was a child, I made use of a child's language, I had a child's feelings and a child's thoughts: now that I am a man, I have put away the things of a child. 13:12 For now we see things in a glass, darkly; but then face to face: now my knowledge is in part; then it will be complete, even as God's knowledge of me. 13:13 But now we still have faith, hope, love, these three; and the greatest of these is love. 1 Corinthians 13:1-13 Bless You Father... Lord, that our brother chooses to walk in love... which ultimately overcome the evil works of lies... thank You for giving him/us spiritual eyes to see where lies truly originate... that we may stand firm in Your truth and rest in the battles which have already been won through Christ... whose Spirit rises up within empowering us with Your love having become our own.
Been carrying you in the Spirit bro... anointed post... as am sure the others will be too bren |

| Wheeeeeeeewwwwwww, good one! I find myself that I have to remove myself from the situation first, to be able to get to where I need to be to do that. Make sense? Sometimes I just want to scream " Don't you know satan is having a gloryday and you're helping him, it's not you, it's him.....don't be used!" to some people :( |

Cindy, makes total sense! Yes, some folks are like putty in Satan's hands, and they don't even know it. The worst is when they THINK they're actually serving God. :(
Thanks Penny! |

However, no matter how false the accusation, no matter how painful the betrayal, responding with anger and resentment is still precisely what our Adversary wants! Repaying initial evil with yet more evil is always ok with him! I choose to forgive and move on, never to talk about the person who hurt me. This is new to me, but God is helping me today. |

Good blog. My life was full of false accusations, my heart broken because the wrongful judgments, often bitter and angry at people. Thus gave room for Satan to lead me down roads, I didn't want to travel and allowing sin to keep me longer than I intended to stay. As you know I drifted from God in my early adulthood and never returned for over 30 years. Recently, I was reminded by the Spirit "he was only a prayer away." Soon to be five years in July the Lord turned my life 180 degrees in another direction. In the first year I learned I must totally forgive those that harmed me. The Lord washed it all away a step at a time as he begin healing my life. To put my arms around a person that had harmed me and to say, "I love you," was enough proof that Jesus was/is still working on me. |

| AWESOME, Mike. This is one of those areas when AGAPE Love is so precious, because in I Cor 13:4-8, we find that love doesn't even account for evil!,... Amen? takes no account of the evil done to it |

| Dear Friend, You and I have the same walk. I promise though that God will provide a way for you to bless those who persecute you and I believe in my whole heart that you will do so when led. God will bless you in your faithful obedience, even if your blessing is unknown or not accepted by them. I am still standing in prayer with you on this. Love in Christ always. Jewlz |

Leif, that is an excellent response...after all scripture does admonish us to "overcome evil with good." You must be very strong in your faith!
Rebekah, thanks sister, good to see you again!
Panda, thanks!! We're praising together!
Jules, I appreciate your prayers, I really do. I'm waiting patiently for that opportunity you speak of. I too am confident the Lord will provide it. |

Agape is definitely not easy, Preston. But if anyone knows that, YOU do!
Lara, been there?
Larry, I agree, there is little proof stronger than that. You are an authentic disciple, thanks for sharing your words of testimony.
Destiny, I've noticed your posts recently on the topic. Are you making headway? (I would bet so...) |

| You never cease to amaze me. Another excellent blog. I'm sure we have all been accused falsely at some time in our life and as Christians we need to remember, they are watching, and we need to represent!! I sometimes have to laught thinking about what I would have done before Jesus. |

I cry, and I pray. And after I REALLY, and I mean REALLY give it to God, it doesn't hurt so bad after all. Because in praying for them, and in giving them to God... I have done what I could. |

| I have to deal with a situation that is the thorn in my side. I wanna be human or just a heathen for 5 or 10 minutes. Yeah, that oughta do it.Then God reminds me, " you want that on your record?" I ask in my heart what's in it for me and I keep getting an idea about what Jesus might have thought about while on the cross. He saw me, I see my "friend". Is it my cross to bear (like He said, "Take up thy cross and follow me") ? I guess so. |
