Sometimes we do a craft in the Sunday school class I teach (1st-2nd grade). Our crafts typically come in a kit, and all the children have to do is assemble and decorate them. It’s sort of cute how they beam with pride, even though their actual accomplishment is minimal
2:10 For we are God’s workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.
It occurred to me, as I meditated on the above scripture, which I read while studying Ephesians this week, that the good works we do for God are exactly like that. Paul says those good works have been “prepared in advance”, just like the crafts we do in Sunday school!!!

Wow. That's so true, eh? And yet we think, "oh how nicely I wrote that song or poem". "Oh how good I sounded when I sang at church", "Oh, how good I made that person feel." I mean, it's Ok to feel good about it, but not to forget that we are nothing apart from Him. :) And that HE is to be glorified in all these things, not us.

| love that verse and it goes so well with 8-9 not just saved to go to heaven but to work and to bring glory to God. When you think about it is all God all we do is participate and act in faith. |

| That is absolutely EYE OPENING and gives me a lot of comfort in the works I'm chosen to do. I've never felt proud of anything I've done, but this certainly allows me to relax somewhat, knowing that God has prepared the work, so that it will not overcome me, or be more than I can handle. |

I am giggling over the need to have [star!] show up next to the stars. That is so odd looking!
I am one of those that love doing crafts but NEED kits. I can crochet but outside of that, it has to come easy assembly.
Even today I started nailing boards together to make garden beds and Jim said "Woman, you need a plan, you can't just nail boards together!" lol ...I needed a plan and nails and a hammer and still I was overwhelmed. Eventually, I drove for dirt and he helped me which meant he unnailed the boards.
The finished product still feels good and I am thrilled to have my part in God's plan for my life...as I get to be a part of the finished product and my ego is not invested, it is just pure joy to be included.
Can't wait to see 2 and 3 ! |

| You know I find far too often even as an artist that the best and only good stuff is the stuff that comes from Him :0) And if it goes back to glorify Him in all of His perfectness... then it really didn't come from me and I am pleased to be a part of the kit (vessel-instrument) to glorify my God :0) |
