How interesting this verse. Jesus did not wait for us to repent of our sinful ways. He didn't wait for us to clean up our act and change our ways. He saved us " while we were yet sinners" and He did so without care for Himself. I heard a man say one day, 'Janet I'm so far gone right now that God couldn't possibly save me." I said to him,"You are exactly why He placed His only begotten Son upon that horrible cross." The man scoffed at me and walked away. Have you heard similar from those who are afraid to embrace the cross? What do they fear from this Man who gave His life? Christ died for all of us; those who love Him, those who are still unsure and even those who have chosen not to follow Him. His blood was real. His suffering was real. And His resurrection was very real! We are assured of that through His word and through the work He is doing in our lives. We are justified by His blood! Let's embrace this fact and tell all the nations that Jesus Christ is Lord and He's alive! Brennan Manning states; " Justification by grace through faith is the theologian's learned phrase for what Chesterton once called "the furious love of God". He is not moody or capricious; he knows no seasons of change. He has a single relentless stance toward us; he loves us. He is the only God man has ever heard of who loves sinners." This is one sinner who is eternally thankful for that love. I hope to live my life for Him because of Him. 5:9 Since, therefore, we are now justified by his blood, much more shall we be saved by him from the wrath of God. |
