Hey family. My son just gave his mom one heck of a Mothers Day Gift. Some of you may know that he was deployed to Iraq in January. He and I found out that he would get some R&R time early so we worked on him coming home around Mothers Day. It just so happens I will graduate on that day also. When we hatched the plot I told him it would be the best gift he could give either of us. Me for graduation and her for Mothers Day. To God be the glory it all worked out.
Well, long before all of thisI had promised a friend that I would marry them in Florida the same weekend he was due home. We took off last Thursday night from Greenville, SC for Orlando and he landed in Charlotte that Friday morning. He surprised his brother and fiancee' at home here in Shelby and I crossed my finger that no one would call or text her over the weekend. I was on pins and needles the whole time in the Florida area.
We planned to surprise mom when we returned to the Greenville airport this Monday and it is all captured on the local news. Check this out.

Thank you golden for your sacrifice. I have told others that I cannot imagine what it was like then for you and your families. I can talk to my son using the computer and webcam and see him about 2 times a week! You guys went weeks if not more just to hear from home. It was agonizing not knowing what was going on while he was in basic and that was only 8 weeks. To all the soldiers that ever served, I am proud of you!!!!
