Elbows and knees, cowlicks and teeth, a wiggly, squiggly bundle of energy. He is no respector of critters-bugs, tadpoles, snakes, spiders, fish, frogs, turtles, caterpillars, butterflies, skeeter hawks and grasshoppers ---all hold equal fascination. His smile can brighten the darkest of days. His wit is sharp and his sense of humor boundless. His tenderness and compassion are unusually great in a boy of 11 years. His spiritual sensitivity and concern for others has touched many. How many times did he pray for Darrell and Bro. Leroy. He used to talk to angels when he was small. "Can't you see him Daddy?" He would ask. (No, I wish I could son. Somewhere along the way I lost that ability and I deeply wish I could regain it.)He has been marked by God. Touched by an angel some have said. He is an excellent student and makes his mom and I proud. He reminds me at night when I have been through a tiring day, "Dad, we need to pray." He is unselfish to a fault. He always makes it a point to say "I love you Dad." Well-mannered , friendly and easy to get along with. I see in him all the best of me and I am amazed how much of my likes and hobbies seem to somehow have been passed to him. I think its tough sometimes to be the middle child but he makes it look easy. He is the apple of Mema and Papa's eye. What wouldn't they do for him? I must have done something right but really can't take credit for God's handywork. God you amaze me! I am so humbled by the responsibility to reveal You to him. Help me God to be more like you. Thank you Lord for my grinning, lanky, big-footed, sweet, chicken toting, critter catch'in, fishing buddy. Thank you Jesus for my Tanner. |

[star!] | Tanner is a joy. There were many times when I was down that Tanner's (seeking me out to tell me about one of his critter's) brightened my day. His intuition is priceless. I too love your Tanner. God Bless. |

David - that is beautiful. God blesses us in many ways every day but there's nothing to compare to the gift of our children--except His Son that He gave for us.
When I taught Tanner and Macee for a few weeks in Sunday School, I experienced the true pleasure of teaching. Those two were so attentive and eager to learn.
What a wonderful gift you just gave your son by your words!

[star!] | My thoughts exactly. Through my trials and triumphs, there is always that sweet tender voice saying "I love you mom". He is the apple of his mama's eye too. When I am down, without saying a word, Tanner will come hold my hand and remind me that he loves me "so" much. I question God sometimes, asking why does He allow Tanner to suffer so badly with these migraines, but in all honesty, they have made him a compassionate little fellow. If I am sick, he prays for me. I thank God for all my children. Each unique and different from the next. Amber is my jewel. My sidekick, and my "bestest" friend. Some say we look alike, I say "I wish!". And my Hunter. My strong-willed, mama loving teenager. He is enormously sensitive, a trait many people doesn't get to see, but there non-the-less. He is tender-hearted and strong. He almost daily talks about his "3rd daddy" Darrell. "Mama, I remember when Darrell......" He wasn't able to go into the funeral home to see him, "I don't want to see him that way" I thank God every day for this thing called "Motherhood" I am truly blessed by God!!! |
