"Fear is a terrible thing; there is nothing worse than being afraid. But you do not need to be afraid because your Heavenly Father has given "His angels charge over you, to keep you in all your ways." "
Amen! I love that. It is especially comforting to read when I have a big performance tonight! It is going to be really tough to conquer that fear, but I know with God's help I can. Thank you so much for the encouraging words. :)

Yes and Amen, God is forever faithful.
One of my favorite Psalms. We can't go wrong when we walk by faith in all that God has given us. Love your posts.
Have a blessed day!

We've been reading this to Jacob (in the hospital) every day! :)   Holly read it out of her Jewish version & one of the words is translated as "extricate" --- I looked that up just to enjoy the fullness of the word -- and some of the meanings were to free, to liberate... GOOD STUFF!!!  No, GREAT stuff!

I had a brief moment to log in. I do miss reading blogs and leaving comments, but these "quickie" sessions are all I can do for now.

I checked the Explore page and this blog stood out to me.  We know everything in your blog is based on truth from Scripture.  Perhaps we've even had experiences before that we KNOW that we KNOW this is true (and I have).  Sometimes, in the midst of uncertainty, storms, and calamity--we may momentarily forget.  Thanks for the reminder!  Great blog!

Fear is mostly about not being in control.  Fear of the Most High is a good fear, for He cannot lie.  There are other fears that mostly have to do with comparing ourselves with circumstances and realizing how totally helpless we are. That gives rise to a negative fear that is really faith in our helplessness, or faith in our own imagination that projects itself into the future.  If only, and what if, are generally places that God is not.  God is the God of now and we get grace for today not grace for tomorrow.  Today I need grace to live, if ever I am called to lay down my life then I will only be given grace to do that when the occasion arises!

Negative fears are overcome by learning to trust in the One who is The Fear of our fears.  Although we may fear flying--because we like being in control!  We can overcome it by fearing the One who is in control.  To me, that type of fear is a revelation--for us--about our self.  It reveals where our faith is really at, and the fact that we are "afraid" to "get out of the boat" where we will have to completely depend upon God being who He really is: in control!  So we end up not doing anything where we do not feel like we are in control...although that is a complete illusion!  We are never in control and we never will be!  It is really a matter of renewing our minds, according to the word, and to begin seeing things as they really are and not as our feelings and imaginations say that they are.  If we don't do that then we severely limit God in our own lives--we won't get out of the boat, we won't get out of our box of safety into a place that depends entirely upon God being there.

Blessings!
Craig

Jesus whispers "I am with you"

When the way is dark and lonesome
