This is not my story but in this commen day it happens a lot to kids who dont diserve it or know its happening most people dont think about it !!!! The Mothers' Day Card
When my daughter, Christin was 18, she got pregnant. Her boyfriend, unprepared and unwilling to accept the responsibility for their disobedience to God, dropped his relationship with her immediately and she felt alone with her situation.
At that time, several girls that she had gone to school with had already had abortions and been accepted by a larger number of others as 'having made a quick fix to an embarrassing mistake'. (That's the attitude that I seem to see the world taking, anyway.)
Christin shared her situation with others close to her (including family) and without getting into details, lets just say that abortion was the more advised solution. But she was still not convinced.
Well, thankfully she came around to getting the courage to tell Dad.
I sat down with Christin and talked to her about what I believed God would say. I shared with her what I believed to be the Truth from Gods word.
I told her what I thought God would want her to do, and then I gave her the freedom to choose what to do herself. Then, I promised forgiveness and support for her with whichever decision she finally made.
Christin choose to go ahead with the pregnancy and we toughed it out together. Her friends shared the experience as well. My retirement health-care extended support to her also and so she eventually gave birth to Destiny Alexia Pittman, my Granddaughter. Just her first name brings tears to me sometimes,... anyway.
I was so proud of Christin and so Thankful to God. And then when Mothers' day came around, the Holy Spirit filled me with the greatest expression of Thankfulness ever.
I was looking at the cards at the store and It came to me that I was to buy a little kids mothers day card and write in it with multiple colored crayons, just like a little kid would, this message,
"Dear Mommy, I can't write yet, so Grandpa is helping me because I want you to know now, how proud I am of you for making such a brave and wonderful decision. Thank you Mommy. I Love You, Destiny "
Christin loves to share that card with people sometimes and I know that in time Destiny will be old enough to sit with Mommy and together they can talk about those days.
For me, I will remember that period as a time when Gods Love was more powerful than the law. Gods Love was more impacting than political correctness. I don't like to hear about abortions and I wish I could stop them. But, I would rather have been aborted myself than to show hatred to a young woman for having done so.
Love has somehow got to be the key to change the mindset of this world my friend. If you could somehow put the same money you put behind a "hateful" anti-abortion campaign into a "loving" anti-abortion campaign, I think you could see more fruit.
Last year a good friend of mine asked me to help him (mostly as moral support) with a piano musical show here locally. The proceeds went to the pregnancy center here in Wilson. But at the end of the show, the popular pianist asked if anyone had a testimony and nobody was responding. I waited for some time in the stillness before the Spirit moved me to share The Mothers' Day Card. When I got through, everyone was weeping and there was such a sweet spirit left in the auditorium.
Love is the only thing in the universe that God did not create. God is love, and if you're fighting abortionists today, take God (love) with you.

I Love you. |
