| WD40 & an Axe |
|
| |
Tonight in prayer meeting one of the elders was telling us a story about a nearby farmer. This farmer has an amazingly large collection of antique farm equipment. Well there was this one piece of machinery that they were needing to remove this one bolt from in order to move it, otherwise they would have to bring in a large costly crane to remove the engine in order that it could be relocated. All the men gathered and tried to come up with the best way to budge this old rusted bolt and to no avail it would not move. But one man said, "Give me some time, and I will get this bolt to move." Every day he would stop by spray a little WD40 on that bolt, then take a hammer to his wrench and "tap, tap, tap". He repeated this process every day for many weeks. Finally, it was loosened. Then this elder related this story to how sometimes in our lives we get so stuck in things that hold us back like our pasts, sin, unforgiveness, stagnation, routines, self righteousness etc. Then God has to take a little WD40 and "tap, tap, tap" the things in our lives that bind us up from doing His perfect will. The pastor mentioned that the "WD" in WD40 stands for water displacement, or could correlate to the living water. Sometimes God needs a little WD40 to loosen hindrances. Sometimes He needs an axe to completely remove things from your life. Sometimes it is a little pruning sheer. Sometimes all He needs is a little sandpaper to smooth it out. 15:2 Every branch of mine that bears no fruit, he takes away, and every branch that does bear fruit he prunes, that it may bear more fruit. But one thing is for sure, and it is promised by God. No matter what valley or season you are going through, He will finish what He has started in you!
1:6 And I am sure that he who began a good work in you will bring it to completion at the day of Jesus Christ. Just had another thought on this... sometimes the tap tap tap in conjunction with the Holy Spirit water (WD40) can also be correlated to the tapping Jesus does on our hearts.
3:20 Behold, I stand at the door and knock; if any one hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and eat with him, and he with me. |

| Amen Becky. And I quote: He will finish what He has started in you! and everyone else who has a "you" attached to them. We're all a work in progress - exactly as it says in Philippians 1:6. :o) |

| :) We have some of that rusty ol' farm equipment around here -- and yes, patiently working at it a little each days makes the difference. Impatience can end up costing much, much, much more! Good stuff! :) :) :) |

[star!] | What more could we "axe" for?... hehe
I loved this blog, Precious. It reminded me of Dr. J Vernon McGee. As a new Christian, some many years ago, He was one of my teachers and taught things in a similar way. I loved him and I love you for sharing this. |

Becky, I love WD40, and use it for almost everything! But your blog brought a new perspective to its use!LOL' God has had to use it on me and tap me more than once, and knowing my stubborn self, He will do it again! I just thank Him for loving me enough not to just bring out the cutting torch. |

Steve & Sista Divine - Thanks, and thanks for stoping by.
YES Grammy B - Praise the LORD that it is GOD's Patience and not mine!!! Now that is TRUE Fatherly LOVE!!!
Preston - Oh what a hoot you are... quite a play on words... yes it is His tapping that shows us how much he loves us by molding & changin us into that perfect bride.
Ken - Yep WD40 and brakefluid should always be a constant staple in ANY Redneck garage huh????
Just like Grammy said... I am so grateful for His Patience because " I in my impatience..." would have used a blow torch the first day... and probably would have forgotten the lesson the second day.
