6:43 "For no good tree bears bad fruit, nor again does a bad tree bear good fruit;
6:44 for each tree is known by its own fruit. For figs are not gathered from thorns, nor are grapes picked from a bramble bush.
6:45 The good man out of the good treasure of his heart produces good, and the evil man out of his evil treasure produces evil; for out of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaks.
I love these verses and it is no accident that it is the scripture for today! While it is important to remember that Only God truely knows the nature of a person't heart, as this scripture shows, we can get an idea by the fruit that is produced! However, it is important that we not be quick to judge as sometimes a tree is still growing and can be just on the verge of producing good fruit or the fruit being produced might not be visible to us! (I have a story about that I will post in the future, it's pretty cool!), but like the scripture says-a tree that produces bad fruit will not produce good fruit!
When we walk in the Holy Spirit we will have the fruits of the spirit as shown in Galations 5:22-23:
"But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness,
23gentleness and self-control"
