| What Is Christianity? |
|

If someone asks you what is a Christian, what would you say ?
There is a very good reason I ask this question, and would like to hear from my friends, not to debate just to speculate.
Thank you in advance for taking the time to respond.

2:8 Remember Jesus Christ, risen from the dead, descended from David, as preached in my gospel, The gospel is simple, at least it was to Paul! 17:3 And this is eternal life, that they know thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom thou hast sent. Eternal life is pretty simple too! |

[star!] | Christianity is not to speculate. It is to understand truth. It involves ALL of the Scriptures. As the Word was with God from the beginning!! |

Good-morning My Church friends
Thank you for responding to this blog. I truly appreciate you all taking the time to acknowledge and give your input.
This statement of faith was taken from the Watchman site.
HOW TO BE BORN AGAIN The Sinner: "For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God." Romans 3:23 The Problem: "Jesus answered. . .Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God." John 3:3 The Sentence: "For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord." Romans 6:23 The Savior:"But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us." Romans 5:8 The Solution: "That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved." Romans 10:9 The Timing: "Behold, now is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation." II Corinthians 6:2 Your Acceptance of God's Gift: If you really believe that Jesus Christ took your place in judgment for your sins on the Cross, you can pray the following prayer. The Prayer: Lord Jesus Christ, be merciful to me a sinner. I do now receive you as my personal Lord and Savior. The Result: If you sincerely prayed the above prayer, you are now born again! John 3:3 Welcome to God's Family: "Therefore if any man (or woman) be in Christ, he (or she) is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new." II Corinthians 5:17 I ask myself (Does the Word of God tell us how to be born-again?) I believe this mystery is reserved for God alone as stated in His Written Word as follows:- 3:5 Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and [of] the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God. 3:6 That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. 3:7 Do not be surprised that I say to you, It is necessary for you to have a second birth. 3:8The wind bloweth where it listeth, and thou hearest the sound thereof, but canst not tell whence it cometh, and whither it goeth: so is every one that is born of the Spirit. The reason I posted the question (What Is A Christian), is because I have many conversations with people of different religious denominations and beliefs, who also stated their belief in their religion and/or denomination, which is contrary to Christian beliefs and teaching, yet believe they are Christians. I believe that one cannot be a follower of Jesus Christ (The Saving Word) and also be a follower of other teachings and/or other gods. Simply put, a Christian is a follower of Jesus Christ and HIS teachings alone, as the disciples were first called Christians in the town of Antioch because they followed the Written Word of Jesus Christ. 11:26 And when he had found him, he brought him unto Antioch. And it came to pass, that a whole year they assembled themselves with the church, and taught much people. And the disciples were called Christians first in Antioch. I believe that one cannot say they are a Christian unless they are born-again and filled with the Holy Spirit who enables the NOW BELIEVER to follow the Written Word. Shalom to all my friends. May we all have a fruitful journey on this straight and narrow path following Jesus Christ. Sister Marcia |
