Have been with Jesus

4:13 Now when they beheld the boldness of Peter and John, and had perceived that they were unlearned and ignorant men, they marvelled; and they took knowledge of them, that they had been with Jesus.

This verse leapt at me during lunch time reading in my bible. Unlearned. Ignorant. BUT they had been with Jesus. 

I married soon out of high school and gave birth on my first wedding anniversary, the very day. Two more births followed and any thoughts of college were tossed in the wind. I used to mourn that I had not played my cards better and pursued an education before kids. I had to fight the urge to not play the what if game and enjoy the children I was blessed with instead. I studied with little bible courses offered free from ministries.I dreamed of going to bible school full time, but it never came to pass. I don't discredit anyone who has gone to bible school but for those of us who have not, we do not need to sit idle. 

I saw this as I said today and I realized.....I only need to have been with Jesus to be effective in sharing the gospel.

You're right, Juanita.  You don't need a degree to teach anyone about the love of Jesus.  You've been doing that for a loooooooooong time, my friend.

Ha ha!  I certainly ain't got a degree Juanita, neither have I been to bible college.  But one thing for sure, when you hang around with Jesus - you learn something, and it blows some people out the water when you unleash what you know, which is more than those who've got degrees unleash can do.  It boils down to head knowledge verses heart knowledge.  I for one have heart knowledge, because I for one know what He's done for me personally.

ha, jewlz, when else is ignorance bliss...never that i am aware of...but sometimes head knowledge gets in the way

stevie, you nailed it with saying you know what he has done for you...our testimony is valuable...because others can see what the Lord has done and they  thirst for it themselves

joey...it is a blessing to think i could do any service for Jesus

i can't remember who to give credit to but read once that leading somoene to the Lord is just telling someone that is starving where you once found food when you were starving

Great Blog Juanita and spiritual insight...
Being with Jesus teaches you many things and He is THE Teacher... Amen!
Many people have had Biblical Training but have not really spent much time with Jesus to really know Him and the power of His resurrection...
