6:38 give, and it will be given to you; good measure, pressed down, shaken together, running over, will be put into your lap. For the measure you give will be the measure you get back." What ever you're willing to put into living a better life, thats what you will get out. We believe God will take care of all our problems when we are down and sadly that is false. God helps those who are prepared to receive his help. When you decide that you want the measures coming back to you to be positive and great, it is then that you must decide to stay away from that and those which causes you to lead a bad life. When you make that choice to live the life that is good, and you ask God for help in living that Good God life, it is then that he will provide you with the opportunity for strength to stay away from your sinful ways as long as your hearts intentions are away from sin and on God. Okay i'm making this way to complicated. I'm better at story telling so, here goes: There I sat on the beach blatantly staring, knowing full well lust on the heart is a sin and even one sin, can mean an ultimate seperation from God forever. I had tryed leading a Good life and even prayed for God to control the thoughts in my head about the girls I saw and things I thought about them. It wasn't good, thats when I began to understand the impact that our minds play on our hearts, for the thoughts we think lead to actions. The thought I was having was not a good thought and I knew that I didn't want that thought to turn to action. A prayer of unselfish concern for myself, fully admitting to God and whoever else happened to hear me that I had a problem that I couldn't control flowed from my lips and God listened and he responded. God put his arm around me and said don't be afraid for I am here. My heart was trying to be pure but I cannot under any circumstance do it myself. It is only because the love, compassion and grace of God that I can do anything worthy of his attention. I can hold my head up high and look girls in the eye and not for a second doubt myself for my hearts intentions are pure. I struggled for some time with this and it was only when I opened myself to receive God's blessing that He provided me with that extra bit of strength needed to complete his task for me. We expect God to provide us with the strength to fulfill his will, why not its His will and its doesn't fall into my agenda. If we give 100% of ourselves to filling Gods will we don't have enough in ourselves to accomplish what He wills us too. But when we allow Him, He will provide us with just enough strength to finish it and see what next he has in store. We trust ourselves with our own sinful agenda over that of Gods perfect judgment. We barter with God attempting to somehow negotiate everything we need out of him and we forget that there is a stipulation to the deal we make with God. In order for God to provide us everything we need to give him our whole selfes as our side of the deal. When we don't carry our side, we expect God to still follow through with His. How then is that fair. God is a fair and just God, give him everything and He will give you everything you need to accomplish his will and ultimatiely his will is far better for us than our own. Luke 6:38 ~ give, and it will be given to you; good measure, pressed down, shaken together, running over, will be put into your lap. For the measure you give will be the measure you get back." |
