| Who are you really? |
|

Praise God, I started a new job last Monday, May 18. I had applied for numerous jobs with pay ranging from $12.00-20.00 an hour but the only call I got was from a house painter which will pay me $11.00 an hour. This is not my normal line of work and this is not my usual rate of pay although I have painted houses in the past and I am not in a position to be selective. A job is a job. I'm a carpenter by trade and I've done contracting. These are not claims that I make. I am a professional. I can do a lot of other things as well so that I can call myself an artist and a writer as well as a percussionist besides other things that I can do very well. None of these things dictate who I am. They only speak of the things that I can do. While I'm working I make it a priority to do the best job I possibly can. I'm not doing this to impress the boss. That is just the way I normally do things. I will do the same quality of work if i'm getting paid well or if I don't expect to get paid at all. I do things as unto the Lord because if I am pleasing him everything else will fall into it's proper place. I'm not on the job to make friends with the boss or to strike up conversations about his faith or beliefs and I am not there to preach. I'm getting paid to work and that is the bottom line. If and when the Spirit leads me to share I will share based on what the Spirit tells me. I already let the boss know that I am a man of God and that I need to leave by 4:30 Tuesdays and Thursdays so I can make it to church on time. Ephesians 6:7; With good will doing service, as to the Lord, and not to men: A lot of people can do a lot of things but that doesn't mean that what they do is what they are. Some people can work on cars and they may be good at it but that doesn't make them a mechanic. Some people can work with tools to shape wood but it doesn't make them woodworkers. I can say that I am a carpenter because I have devoted a great portion of my life to develop my skills and I have invested a lot of money on tools and I suscribe to the latest trade publications and I also keep myself informed on local code changes so that I can do my work more effectively. When I speak about work I know the lingo and I speak with command and authority concerning my work because I know my stuff. I am the same way concerning the things of God. What I am in the Lord reflects in everything I say and do. I know who I am in the Lord. That is who I am. Ephesians 2:10; For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them. We are what we are because of Christ within us. He is the one working in us and with us and through us to perfect us in order to accomplish his will here on the earth. I am not what my work dictates that I am. This is only what I do. Neither am I what other people say I am. They can say whatever they want to.
Sometimes people label themselves according to their conditions. For instance they may say things such as, "I'm an addict" or "I'm an alcoholic" or "I'm a diabetic" as well as "I'm bi-polar". These things are conditions but they do not define who you are. Other people label themselves according to how they feel such as "I'm depressed" or "I'm a nobody" or "I'm angry". These things define how you feel but they do not define who you are. It's not what is on the label that matters at all, it's what's in the bottle that matters.
Don't speak these things to yourselves and don't confess these things. You are what you say you are. If you are going to speak something negative over yourself at least follow it up with scripture to cancel that curse upon yourself. You may not always feel well but if you are sick and you say you are sick at least follow it up by saying "but by his stripes I am healed". Proverbs 23:7; For as he thinketh in his heart, so is he: Eat and drink, saith he to thee; but his heart [is] not with thee.
Philippians 3:8; Yea doubtless, and I count all things but loss for the excellency of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord: for whom I have suffered the loss of all things, and do count them but dung, that I may win Christ, All of the things that we think or say that we are really don't mean jack to anyone at all but ourselves. It is all just vanity. When Jesus inspects us he doesn't look at our gifts, he is looking for fruit. In the beginning he told us to be fruitful and to multiply. If we are not bearing fruit all of our gifts and titles and positions and anything we want to tag onto our names to make ourselves "feel" important do not mean diddly squat. That is why Paul said he counted everything that he was as if it was doo doo, that he might gain Christ. Pride is destroying the people of God. Sure you may think that you are okay because the Spirit may move you here and there but that is because the gifts and calling of God are without repentance and the word of God does not return void. You can be so far removed from the will of God that when you wake up from that pipe dream you will find yourself naked and blind and lost. Snap out of it. Wake up Muttley you are dreaming again. If I am anything at all it is because of the grace of God. Not that there was anything good in me, I was rotten to the core, bad to the bone, miserable, angry and hateful. I did not choose my path, God chose it for me. Yes I am a prophet and I am an ordained pastor but these things came with years of blood sweat and tears, not to mention all of the pain and suffering I had to undergo throughout my life. I would be just as happy if I could just sweep the floors and clean the toilets in the church. I was in the same church I am in now doing the same things I do now even though I didn't have any tiltes or positions and I did it gladly and joyfully. Now with a position I do not boast or brag about my position but I try to lead by example demonstrating the fruit of the Spirit while being obedient. This is not to give myself any props but I write these things so that you can learn to look beyond yourself at the bigger picture. We need to stop drawing so much attention to ourselves. It is all about Jesus. You don't have to try to impress anyone, or make yourself look good to anyone or kiss up to or brown-nose anyone. all you have to do is please Christ. He is the one that will reward you and promote you in due time. 1 Peter 5:6; Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time: Who are you really? Are you that person that looks back at you when you look in the mirror? Or are you who God says you are? This is not about how you feel because your feelings can deceive you. This is about what you believe. Who do you believe? I know who I am. I am a co-heir with Christ and whatever belongs to him belongs to me. I am a son of God and nothing that anyone can say or do can change that. I am a son of God because of what Jesus did for me on the cross and because I choose to be.
If anyone approaches you and tells you that you are something that you are not you have permission to reject it. Know who you are and when you are fully convinced there is nothing that can hinder you from being all you can be in Christ. You decide. You make the choice Shalom |

[star!] | Thanks Prophet, most encouraging. Especially when you say that we can reject the stuff that people throw at us. We are what God says we are. We just need to listen to him. |

[star!] | If i could add more than one star i would, you have not only hit the nail on the hetad you have just opened the so-called mystery that the body of Christ claims to not know what is going on, everything is being done unto man and not Christ, i don't know how many times i have had to deal with the issue of people getting jobs, and placing themselves in ministry because it had a whole lot of people and they would get a lot of freinds, when did Christ become about friends, He said
10:34 Think not that I am come to send peace on earth: I came not to send peace, but a sword. 10:35 For I am come to set a man at variance against his father, and the daughter against her mother, and the daughter in law against her mother in law. 10:36 And a man's foes [shall be] they of his own household. 10:37 He that loveth father or mother more than me is not worthy of me: and he that loveth son or daughter more than me is not worthy of me. 10:38 And he that taketh not his cross, and followeth after me, is not worthy of me. 10:39 He that findeth his life shall lose it: and he that loseth his life for my sake shall find it. I appreciate the words of the Prophet and understand fully the life of one don't think for a minute that you walk alone.
I KNOW WHO I AM, and my name is VICTORY.
Be forever Blessed |

[star!] | AMEN you inspire me!! For me to live is Christ, and to die is gain. When I die to self, crucify the flesh then I am really me, and have true self esteem. I think that I am everything God says I am, and have everything He says I have, and am being transformed by His Power daily, and I know feelings lie and the flesh wars agaist the spirit. Even though I know these things I still fall short of the calling upon my life - so thank God for His mercies that are renewed daily. God Prosper you brother, and I speak life over you and your family and the Holy Fire of God consume and posess you this day in Jesus mighty name! |
