My friend Michelle asked me to write a poem for her 5 yr old daughter. She is taking dance at Ms. Patti's and this poem is for her recital in June.

Ten tiny fingers
Ten tiny toes
You are so cute
With your button-shaped nose.

The day of your birth
I wasn't prepared
To love you so much
My girl with red hair.

You will continue to grow
And go your way
And I'll pick up the toys
With which you onced played.

Until that day comes
Each moment I'll treasure
My love for you
Is deep, without measure.
