God has his thoughts and ways, and we have ours. We'd best try to be open to his, I think. :)

One thing I do know is that God is exact and does not do things randomly or by accident. Even when the children of Israel left Egypt it was exactly 400 years to the day that they entered Egypt. Moses was born at the exact tine that he was supposed to be born and everything fell into place exactly the way God wanted it to. Mathuselah died just before Noah went into the Ark. Do the math, its all in there. We can't know what the exact number of martyrs will be but it will be the exact number that God had determined. If I live I live unto the Lord. If I die I die unto the Lord. So if I live or die I will do it unto the Lord

If I am not willing to die for my faith, do I have faith?

I totally agree, Mike. I don't understand but KNOW His ways are right on the money and what I get most from this is that when horrible things happen, and we feel like God was far away...He isn't...and knows already who the afflicted are and what the outcome is. I know that but this just stated it in a way I had not grasped before.

There is something in it for me because of the invitation I told you about at my son's funeral and those like my brother in law attending that I told you about. Not a marytr situation but again, He knows how it plays out and there are no cooincidences.

Prophet, I love the math in the bible, but only in the bible. Today I do Hud settlement sheets for real estate closings and have to make sure the figures jive, go figure...pun intended, lol.

Jewlz, I think we think we are willing but most of us pout after a bad day when someone looked at us wrong. (talking to myself)

I was actually thinking out loud...questioning myself...my understanding of that which is coming...sorry if it came out like a challange of faith to others, it was really only to me. ;o)

The age of the martyrs is often thought of as over but it is ongoing.  The first to shed their blood for Christ were the infant boys in Matthew.  The next was Stephen, and following him, hundreds until the Edict of Milan.  But the age of marytrs continues throughout Christian history even to our own day.

A priest I knew once said, the only true revival will come when martyrdom comes alive in our land.  The blood of martyrs is the water of faith that nourishes believers.

How many you ask?  Perhaps hundreds or thousands, whatever it takes to make our faith vibrant, the glory of God proclaimed, and Christ is acknowleged as Lord.

I totally took it the way you meant, Jewlzy, lol, totally but then while agreeing with you and talking to myself thought someone may think I was talking about them. I guess we are stepping on our tongues to be polite and nonabrasive. The Holy Spirit can convict anyone He needs. love you.

fr Vincent...never thought about the infant boys in Matthew for being the first martyrs but always heard Stephen was ...of courst the boys didn't choose to die for the prolamation of their faith which may be the criteria which makes Stephen first. Anyway you look at it....you are soooooooooooooo correct that it continues to this day. Now and again we hear of it in other countries.
