| outcast before a loving Christ |

My sister in law is so vulgar and rough it is hard to talk to her, going down in health (mass found in her stomach and losing huge amounts of weight after heart attacks plural), stays drunk and just got arrested for selling drugs to her pregnant daughter. She calls to talk to ME. She is usually drunk when she does. She lives in Iowa and I have an old picture of her, but don't really know what she looks like today. She doesn't have a computer. She called me saying she is tired and won't allow them to do further testing in the hospital. Her roommate guy friend is Catholic and she was going to go to his church Easter. She was too drunk for me to find out if she did but he was yelling that someone needs to come get her or he was calling 911 again. I prayed for her on the phone last time. She was too tipsy to connect this time, just repeating stuff over and over. I read this below from Pastor Greg Laurie this morning and thought how Tammy is the woman at the well, getting water when others aren't because she was an outcast about to have an encounter with Christ. Wow, it immediately leapt at me that was a fitting description of Tammy. Pray as I called the next day and left a message for her on her cell phone. No response. Everywhere Jesus went, He was very much in demand. There was always a crowd around Him, and understandably so. He was God in human form, walking through their streets. Everyone wanted something. There would be those who always wanted a touch, like the woman who had spent all of her money on doctors, trying to be cured, but to no avail. When she touched the hem of His garment, she was restored and healed. There is the story of the Syro-Phoenician woman who brought her demon-possessed child to Jesus, and the story of Jairus, who came and asked Jesus to touch his sick daughter. Everyone needed something, but Jesus knew they needed more than just a healing, more than just a touch, and more than just a word. He knew the deepest need was in their soul. We see this demonstrated time and again. Despite His incredibly busy schedule, He went out of His way to meet a Samaritan woman in a little town where Jacob's well was located, even though she had no idea she had an appointment with God. She went to that well at that time of day because she was a social outcast. Sometimes when people do things that are wrong, we get angry with them. Not only do we hate the sin, but we end up hating the sinner also. Yet God wants us to see that while we can hate the sin, there is still a sinner who is loved by God. Maybe no one has ever told him or her there is another way to live. May God give us eyes to see this world as He sees it. |

[star!] | Great Post! It is a great reminder that it is the sin we should hate not the sinner. I really like Greg Laurie... It's hard to deal with such people, we have had them in one form or another, but when you see God's work, how awesome is that!!!!!!!! it is a good reminder that it is the sin it is the sin it is the sin we hate, and take pity on the the sinner, after all we are all sinners... thank you for sharing... God bless you.
Dear heavenly Father, we lift this lost lady up to you... Help her find her way to you Lord Jesus take those things away that keeps her from you. Open the eyes of her heart, don't let her hear the devils whispers any more don't let her believe the lies he tells her... Show her his lies, and that she needs you... Lord not one can be snatched out of your hand, we put her in your hands, because there are no better hands to put her... We ask you to restore her life as you did for the women at the well. bless her Father and help her to be a blessing turn her life around so she will see it's not about her it's all about you... In Jesus name amen... |

| I have one of those people, too. :) Just when I start thinking that maybe it's not going anywhere, I'll see a babystep of progress. Guess I'll just keep on being faithful -- and letting God do His job. :) LOL! He knows HOW to bring it all about in His perfect timing....:) :) :) |

[star!] | God has been showing me "Hate the sin, not the sinner." is wrong in that it depicts sin as the demonic power. "Hate satan, not the sinner" is correctly applied righetous anger.
Lord, Tammy's need for you is the same as all sinners, like I needed you, for all have sinned. Please Lord, rebuke satan! Cast out her demons. Show her the truth. I pray for Tammy's salvation. That she will accept Jesus' sacrifice for her sins and trust in only Him to redeem her and recieve her at Heavens gate. Our every breath is numbered, like the hairs you count on our heads, and only you know our number. I pray for her in Jesus' name Lord. Amen. |
