JULY 25th- Preston went home to his house to be cared for and rehab at home. He still cannot see well so that is an area of prayer and they have been nervous about it as expected. Pray this all goes well as they are working on many areas of rehab. He walked a bit. Praise the Lord!!!! From expected death, this little boy is an overcomer and we must give glory to God.
update from his daddy: James 1:2-8
2 Dear brothers and sisters, when troubles come your way, consider it an opportunity for great joy. 3 For you know that when your faith is tested, your endurance has a chance to grow. 4 So let it grow, for when your endurance is fully developed, you will be perfect and complete, needing nothing.
5 If you need wisdom, ask our generous God, and he will give it to you. He will not rebuke you for asking. 6 But when you ask him, be sure that your faith is in God alone. Do not waiver, for a person with divided loyalty is as unsettled as a wave of the sea that is blown and tossed by the wind. 7 Such people should not expect to receive anything from the Lord. 8 Their loyalty is divided between God and the world, and they are unstable in everything they do.
I read this about a week ago. I knew God sent it to me, for comfort. The events of the last couple days have been incredible. Preston has been moved from the ICU. He is responding to more commands. He is generally improving. Problem is…he’s not exactly Preston, YET. As a competitive male, I get caught up in winning right away. This is not a scenario where we will win right away. I continue to pray for patience and endurance. Please pray that God will grant both Cinamon and me grace and patience as we continue this journey.
God is so good!!! Preston talked to Mommy, Daddy, Taylor, Papa (Loyd), Nanny (Loyd), Monny (Hinshaw) and Grampy (Hinshaw) today. He is such a fighter.
Specific items for prayer:
· Pray for his left shoulder and elbow. He seems to be experiencing some pain. We have asked for an ortho consult tomorrow. Pray they find nothing more injured with his left arm.
· Pray for continued healing of his internal injuries.
· Pray for all the infection, fungus and bacteria to be gone.
· Sometimes Preston seems to have trouble visually focusing. Please pray this ability to focus will return to normal. He has the most incredible blue eyes you have ever seen.
· Pray the miraculous, perfect healing will continue and reach its ultimate conclusion, in God’s time.
· Pray for our family. Today, for some reason, was a little more difficult for Cinamon and me. Pray for Taylor and the grandparents as well.
· Pray for one another. Only by lifting each other up will we be able to sustain our praying momentum for Preston and all the others who are in need of prayer.
Bless all of you for the continued prayers. Bless all of you for continuing to reach out via mail, email, text, etc. We are strengthened by each and every contact.
We Love you all!!
In His Arms and claiming perfect healing for our sweet Preston,
Ashton
