| Megan's 18th Birthday Party |
|
| |
Megan is going to be 18 on Tuesday. For those of us that look back on our teenage years as a fond but distant memory, we remember the carefree manner in which we conducted our lives. For some of us, the days were filled with talking to our best friend on the phone(land-line...no cell phones back then), spending days on the beach, or going fishing with dad. Those days seemed so much simpler, somehow. While each generation has problems that it faces, no generation has it quite like Megan's generation or those to follow. These generations face the possible demise of civilization as we know it. The values that I was taught are no longer considered to be valuable. Men have been emasculated, babies are killed, the Constitution of the USA is considered out-dated and our Supreme Court is making it's rulings by what other countries are doing instead of what the Constitution says. So as Megan approaches Tuesday, she will be legally of age to vote; I can't help but wonder, have I done my duty, not only to my country but to my daughter as well, to instill in her Godly values. Will she remember the conservative and Biblical views that I have taught her? So Megan's 18th Birthday is one that society looks upon as a person becoming an adult. Those of you that know Megan, know that she possesses wisdom, sometimes beyond her years. For her becoming an adult will not happen when she hits the "magical number". I am confident that she is well-equipped to make the right decisions . So Megan's 18th Birthday Party was of sorts a good-bye to childhood and hello to whatever God has in store for her. |

Bittersweet, isn't it? As a mama, I feel the same way, but what Bubba said is encouraging. Looks like you got your first, second, and third bases covered!
As for the party, it was fun. A lot of deja vu going on for us 80's girls! Except for the music. Where was the 80's music, Robin?? jk. |

| Megan does love God and she wants to do what is right. Jessica, Karen, and Staci...you guys have been such an encouragement to Megan and myself. And you guys are so great to be around. As far as the 80's music, Lynn, I'm not sure this younger generation can fully appreciate it like we do. Besides, you were having too much fun watching your nails glow...hahaha... |
