We were trained by our parents to be first and foremost faithful to our Lord. Every act we did was to be evaluated as to whether we were faithful to God. We learned that the one thing we could always count on is God's faithfulness to us. God does not change and His love is unfailing. God is also faithful to keep all of His promises.
God has promised never to leave us nor forsake us [Hebrews 13:5]. God never leaves us, we leave Him but He is always there waiting for us to come back to Him. Our faithfulness is not reliable, loyal, constant, stable or dependable as defined above by Webster. So often parents make promises to their children to go somewhere or to do something but when the time comes something else comes up that seems more important to the parents and the promise is broken. In many cases the child is hurt and does not understand.
Faithfulness is an important quality that God expects of those who are His followers. He expects us to not only be faithful to Him but to our family, friends and neighbors. When the going gets tough are you someone that can be counted on? Faithfulness is never easy, it requires commitment.
When we were first married we made a commitment that together we would always be Faithful to our Lord, to each other and to our children. Then we made the same commitment to train our children as we were trained. God has blessed us, our children and our grand children as a result of this commitment to our Lord and Savior. Today we begin each day individually by asking God to bless us that day and help us to be faithful to Him. God does not call us to be successful; He calls us to be faithful.

Help me dear Lord to be faithful to you in all that I do. Help me as well to be faithful to my spouse, my children, my extended family, neighbors and to all you allow me to meet today. I am grateful for Your faithfulness to me. Thank you for giving me a day that I can look back on tonight and say TO GOD BE THE GLORY, GREAT THINGS HE HAS DONE!
