Yes...we are to love our neighbor as we love our self.  If you don't love yourself...then please don't love me!  We are talking about the new self we are in Christ.  The new creation we are in him, is to be loved.  The self we were when we were in the flesh (and in Adam), has been executed [crucified], in Christ.

If we don't know who we are in Him, then we will hate our self because we will be seeing ourselves as still being in the flesh.  This is not easy to learn because it is a "looking at the unseen" thing and we must get it into our heart that we are The Righteousness of GOD in Christ.  Otherwise we will forever be trying to achieve what we are supposed to receive as a gift.
