(This is just because I wanted to share.) Some of my favorite sayings:
--Sin will take you farther than you want to go; Keep you longer than you want to stay; Make you pay more than you want to pay.
--The best and easiest way to break a bad habit: drop it.
--The best way to take life: one day at a time.
--If in doubt, do without. (this works in m ost cases of temptation and all other cases too unless it's God you're doubting.)
--Haste makes waste. A few of my favorite Bible verses:
9:11 I returned, and saw under the sun, that the race [is] not to the swift, nor the battle to the strong, neither yet bread to the wise, nor yet riches to men of understanding, nor yet favour to men of skill; but time and chance happeneth to them all.
33:2 Thus saith the LORD the maker thereof, the LORD that formed it, to establish it; the LORD [is] his name; 33:3 Call unto me, and I will answer thee, and shew thee great and mighty things, which thou knowest not.
This one I like because it gives me hope:
21:4 And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away. These 2 are good instruction:
5:14 For all the law is fulfilled in one word, [even] in this; Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. 5:15 But if ye bite and devour one another, take heed that ye be not consumed one of another.
6:7 Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap. 6:8 For he that soweth to his flesh shall of the flesh reap corruption; but he that soweth to the Spirit shall of the Spirit reap life everlasting. 6:9 And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not. I heard Sis Jannise say this when we were praying at prayer meeting yesterday:
"The work is already done; all we have to do is walk in the victory."
Jesus did all the work on the cross when He bore our every sin and sorrow. Let's walk in the victory that He fought for and won for us all.
This brings to mind words to a song. Here's the chorus:
Victory was won at Calvary; Victory that gave me liberty; Now I can live eternally; Victory was won at Calvary!!!!!! |
