God has allowed us to be involved through the years in some exciting projects. In all of these projects and throughout our lives we have been driven by goals that we have set. We urge all of our friends to make a commitment early in life to set goals. If you have never thought about goals for your life, today is the day to begin. Remember: "TODAY IS THE FIRST DAY OF THE REST OF YOUR LIFE." Without goals you will become stagnant. With goals that honor God, He will do wonders through your life.
Never underestimate what God is able to do through you. The goal that the Apostle Paul had was not set with his hope for earthly rewards but he set his goal on getting heavenly rewards. During his lifetime his goal in life changed dramatically. Paul went from the goal of persecuting Christians to the goal of spreading the good news of the gospel after he had his encounter with God and met Jesus Christ as his Savior. God called him to spread Christianity to his world.
Other then Jesus himself, no other man has made more of an impact on the development and spreading of Christianity then the Apostle Paul. He wrote thirteen books of the New Testament and these books have an impact on the lives of people today.
Even before we were married we set a life time goal that our hearts would be broken so that we would be able to see the world as a world in need. We began our married life with a short term goal of working in Korea for World Vision. Our goals in Korea were to establish orphanages for children to live in and to provide ways to teach these children Christian principles. Another one of our short term goals was driven by our interest in evangelism. The opportunity then opened in Korea to set up a city wide crusade.
We proceeded to set up over 140 orphanages and also we set up the first city wide evangelistic crusade in Seoul Korea with Dr. Bob Pierce. The total attendance for the 8 days was in excess of 250,000 with over 100,000 at the final meeting with literally thousands accepting Christ as their Savior. These two projects would never have happened, with our involvement, if we had not set goals and MOST IMPORTANT asked God to lead and bless our every decision.
Another result of our setting goals was when we were asked to coordinate a teen convention for Youth for Christ International. We accepted this challenge with excitement because it seemed at the time to be a challenge that we believed God wanted us to be involved in. We responded favorably knowing it was an answer to our prayers and we were thrilled that God did bless our every move. The CAPITAL TEEN CONVENTION had over 12,000 junior and senior high school teenage leaders from every state in America come to Washington D.C. for a five day convention.
These teenagers were challenged at the convention to evaluate their lives and their goals in the light of God's Word. They were also challenged to serve the Lord in a new and fresh way when they returned to their campus. Only eternity will reveal the impact that that convention had on the lives of these 12,000 teenagers and the many others that were touched by their lives when they returned home. They left with goals that they had never thought about prior to the convention.
We have been blessed with other such opportunities and through all of these we learned that as Christians when we attempted something so big that unless God took over, it was bound to fail. Most of us dream dreams but are afraid to step out. We encourage you to pray and work hard and then watch God do His work. We also urge you to set goals for your life, beginning today. It can be to pray for an associate who needs to know Jesus. It can be to improve your relationship with your spouse or your child. It can be to join a short term mission group to some foreign country. But you need to set goals, both short term and long term.

Give me the strength and drive today to set some goals that honor you. Help me first of all to live my life today to honor you in all that I do. Burden my heart for a lost world that needs to know you as their Savior. Thank you for my family. Give me strength and the knowledge to lead in a way that draws one closer to you.
