| Woke up on the wrong day |
|
| |
I got up and made coffee, put the dogs out, started a load of laundry as I was planning what to wear to work today, I thought how fast the weekend went and wondered if Jim was working day or afternoon shift today. I saw he had work clothes and then "lightbulb lit up" it is Sunday not Monday. A full fifteen minutes or so had passed with me thinking it was Monday. I felt incredibly blessed and Church will be ever sweeter today knowing that I have another day at home afterward to play in my garden if the storms hold off or with my Nancy Moser book if it doesn't. I told Jim about this as I awakened him. He works dayshift today but has to extend to the evening to allow polishers in to do floors. So slowing down a bit and relaxing over coffee together, I marveled at my dog Sugaree tucked way deep under Jim's desk as her favorite snoozing spot and said "I will bet that she is acting out her instincts to be in wolf den" because it is not a likely comfortable spot from my vantage point, too cramped." Jim's facial expression said he didn't think so even though he said nothing. I giggled and said "Well, I will bet I am right" to which he answered with a grin " You are awful confident for someone who woke up on the wrong day." That sent us both into explosive laughter. Then I come to mychurch and today's verse is on being alert. Well, I am awake now devil, and I have my mind fully sober and set on my hope on the grace of Jesus Christ. It will be a blessed day today. (I still think I am right about my dog's restin' spot :) Therefore, with minds that are alert and fully sober, set your hope on the grace to be brought to you when Jesus Christ is revealed at his coming. This is written from another version this way: 1:13 Therefore gird up your minds, be sober, set your hope fully upon the grace that is coming to you at the revelation of Jesus Christ. |

| That's what happens when you're in the 50+ club Juanita, because your brain cell goes all over the place! You wake up feeling its one day, when actually its another. And I don't know if you can understand this, but sometimes it takes you all day to get over it. And by the time you've gotten over it, its actually the day you thought it was when it wasn't. LOL!!! |

Oh, Arlene! I am laughing thinking about garbage having to wait another week for pickup..Thank you! Didn't realize you and Liz were in the 60 group. My uncle was once speaking to his son and said "Remember when we were little and we did ......?" My cousin just grinned and said "Who do you think you are talking to? " |

That's so awesome, realizing it's a day to RELAX, then relaxing....
My Sunday started the other way. I'm one of the VBS "storytellers", and got up early on Sunday b/c I wasn't sure if our "Bible Bayou" story room was decorated yet -- the old "I though YOU were in charge of that!" -- "No, I thought YOU were!"
So at 7:30 I walked into church and discovered the room WASN'T decorated. (It was supposed to look something like Moses' mountaintop, w/burning bush.) After a quick hunt for decorative supplies at the church (fortunately I found the all-important large roll of brown butcher's paper), I sped off to Wal-Mart for red light bulb, packing tape, and red streamers (to make the fake palm tree look like a burning bush). By 10:30 the room was transformed from classroom to mountaintop!!!! (wrinkled brown paper covering everything, hidden red light shining on fake palm tree, hidden fan blowing red streamers) I will admit I was pretty stressed over whether the job could be completed or not before VBS started yesterday morning!! |

| that is the way my life usually runs Mike, but this time I was ahead of my game. Thanks for that illustration though, I can see you doing that. I wouldn't have had an inkling how to make a burning bush. I probably would have taken my fica tree and decorated it |
