| Singing with Angels |

As you know from my previous blog, I had to sing a brief, one line solo today at church. It never ceases to amaze me, how God can calm our spirits when we are scared or nervous, if only we let Him. He most definitely must want me to sing, because things always seem to fall into place, and my nerves always seem to disappear when I am on stage.
Today was no exception. This group of girls that I was blessed to be able to sing with, is an awesome collection of talent. When I have heard them sing before, usually I am sitting in the congregation, and I am awestruck at the lovely, angelic sound they make. To be asked to fill in for one of their regular members, was an honor for me. To be able to sing with such talent, was a thrilling experience. I humbly admit that I am not as talented as they are. But, I did sing the one line solo without stumbling, or singing in the wrong key...and the group of singers together sounded fantastic, if I do say so myself!
I know this day was a moment in time that I will not soon forget. It was probably no big deal to most, but to me, it was yet another sign of God's love for me. First, He blessed me with the opportunity. Then, He gave me the peace and calmness that I prayed and hoped for. Then, He gave me a clear voice (when I often suffer with allergies and sometimes have problems singing). And He blessed me and hopefully the other girls singing, as well as the congregation, with the beautiful harmonies of our voices singing together. Music is such an important part of my life, and I love it when something I sing blesses others. I only hope that our singing blessed others as much as it did me!

Awesome! Great job for you - great that your faith helped you overcome your fear, and allowed you to praise Him using the talents He bestowed. Now, when does the CD come out ;) |

| When you all started singing, I was thinking about your blog and how you must be feeling at that moment and praying for you, but by the time you ladies were a few bars into the song, I was just worshipping God! And THAT is the point! |

| You did a fantastic job Deb! :) We knew you would! :) I felt blessed to sing this song with all you girls. By looking at the congregation you could see the song was blessing them, too. Some had smiles, some had tears, others listened with their eyes closed. :) That's why we sing! To praise God! :) |

Growing in Faith...don't know about the cd...but when I have sat in the congregation and listened to these girls sing, I think they could make a cd and sell a lot of them!

Soozanne, that is the way it always should be, but often times we are just not able to give everything over to Him. If we could, how much better things would be!

Amber, thank you so much. It sure does mean a lot to me to look out at the congregation and see them "feeling" something from the song. When we got applause at the first service I was amazed! :) (Usually they are all asleep I think). I enjoyed being a part of the group! |
