that is so true.  it is hard to see it when you are in the dry place sometimes, but when you emerge, you can see how much you have learned.  sometimes you see it before you emerge from it and it provides the strength to keep going.

I have come to believe that the dry places are the places where God teaches us not to depend upon ourselves [2 Cor 1].  In these places, if we try to lean on our emotions or understanding they are "put out of joint" so to speak.  It gets worse rather than better.  We learn to set our minds upon who God is rather than how we may be feeling about him.  :-)  Watchman New would call The Release of the Spirit by the breaking of the outward man.  Good book but don't expect to get ten rules on how to control everything in it!  It's about what God does not about what we do.  :-)

Blessings!

Often, your wilderness is the doorway to your promise. At the initiation of Jesus' public ministry He was led into the wilderness first before He ever preached a sermon. If you are in a wilderness right now, remember what you learned while there because it will be necessary to sustain you in your Promised Land. Don't faint or lose heart. You may be at the door of your promise and purpose.

You may not have been lost at all.
You may have simply been led!

I too am struck especially by the sentence "your wilderness is the doorway to your promise."  How true.  This one was a good one for me to read today.  Thank you...

I experienced a time of wilderness a time ago, and God has opened so many windows for me.   All glory and honor be to Him!
