Storms

This morning I woke up very early.  I had two of the boy crawl up in bed with us because of thunderstorms rolling through our area.  Then the cat was at the bedroom door meowing with her "outside voice", as Sarah calls it.  After my leg started cramping I thought, "OK Lord, I understand.  Get up and see what message you have for me."

 I decided to look up storms in the concordance in my Bible, this is what I found:


107:23 They that go down to the sea in ships, that do business in great waters; 107:24 These see the works of the LORD, and his wonders in the deep. 107:25 For he commandeth, and raiseth the stormy wind, which lifteth up the waves thereof. 107:26 They mount up to the heaven, they go down again to the depths: their soul is melted because of trouble. 107:27 They reel to and fro, and stagger like a drunken man, and are at their wits' end. 107:28 Then they cry unto the LORD in their trouble, and he bringeth them out of their distresses. 107:29 He maketh the storm a calm, so that the waves thereof are still.

This is a very comforting passage to me.  In the past few weeks, I have faced trouble and storms in my life.  Isn't it great that the Lord calms the storm and makes the waves still?  Sometimes when the waves still we find ourselves off course and headed in the wrong direction but we have a Lord that can help us find our bearings.  I am amazed that He hasn't given up on me.

You know he is so wonderful how many times does he forgive? 7times70 = always as 7 is the perfect number or number of perfection.  We are called to do the same and this is the hard thing but look at the reward
11:1 And it came to pass, that, as he was praying in a certain place, when he ceased, one of his disciples said unto him, Lord, teach us to pray, as John also taught his disciples. 11:2 And he said unto them, When ye pray, say, Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done, as in heaven, so in earth. 11:3 Give us day by day our daily bread. 11:4 And forgive us our sins; for we also forgive every one that is indebted to us. And lead us not into temptation; but deliver us from evil.
