24:44Therefore be ye also ready: for in such an hour as ye think not the Son of man cometh. What is the thinking process of most people today? Jesus is coming back, probably not folks are more concerned with building greater barns. There was an individual that God blessed with a great harvest and instead of sharing the wealth, he thought of how easy life could be for him. God calls this man a fool, sad to say there's more modern day fools that have the same mind set about taking it easy. Let me get back to Jesus coming back tomorrow, in such an hour as you think not. I'm not a date setter, No man knows the day or the hour, when the Son of God shall return not even the angels. The one thing that is certain is that he's coming, there's no way around that biblical fact. This is a little the like the game, we played as children in my neighbour hood, "hide and seek." The object was to chose one to be the seeker and to count to a certain number with their eyes closed counting aloud, while everyone else in the game went to hide. There was a set place that was considered the home base that all the hiders tried to get back to without being tagged by the seeker. At the end of counting the seeker would cry out, Ready or Not, Here I Come . I honestly, believe that's the way the Lord Jesus is coming back, ready or not here I come. We as Christian should by all means be ready for his coming, we have the instruction book that details every phase of his coming. This should not be a mystery to the believer, since my earliest years of Sunday School, I've been taught time and time again that Jesus is coming. It's not preached as much today as it use to be, but the fact is Jesus is coming. Jesus gave us some more signs that have to do with his return. Jesus said that it would be like it was in the days of Noah, people were marrying and given in marriage. People had warnings , because God called a man to build an ark. I think you would be hard pressed to find folks in America that haven't been exposed in some form or fashion to the gospel of Jesus Christ and that includes his return. The folks in Noah's day like the people today were told something was about to happen. You can't read the newspaper or watch the news and not see the Bible being fulfilled. Jesus covered this in Matthew 24, about wars and rumours of wars, earthquakes, famine all in line with the end times as Jesus described it. There's a series of best selling books and a few films on the left behind theme. Will all that claim to be christians be called up to meet the Lord in the sky? What about the carnal christian, the lukewarm christian, the backslidden christian and my favorite of all times the church membership christian ? All jokes aside, ready or not, the Lord is coming in a monument in the twinkling of an eye. |
