| A month in Deutschland... |

| so i've just been in Germany for a month!! what an awesome experience! a life enriching, mind blowing, indescribable month... i was an exchange student from south africa to germany and i stayed with a host family. i learned a lot about the world - the real world outside of our christian comfort zone. yeah, there's a lot of broken people in germany - and else where. for two weeks i went to school (not formally educated - i was quite bored...). the 3rd week me and my host sister went to berlin and the last week i went to austria with my host mom. wow! that was the highlight! for the first time in my life, i touched snow!!! sometimes the language gave me a headache. its just german, german, german. but what did i expect? chinese? ;-/ sometimes they would just say something to each other and then when miss-not-understanding-the-laguage had finished drawing circles in the ground, they would already have started to walk away. then my host sister would shout, almost forgetting about me, "are you coming...?" duh, i sure want to get home without any direction and "weirdness" complications... or complexes... it sure was a lot of fun and i learned a lot about germany and different people. but the thing i learned most was that YOUR LIFE IS THE GREATEST TESTIMONY OF GOD'S LOVE. amen! please pray for my host family if you feel urged to do so. when i departed a week ago, they have not accepted christ yet. i believe that the prayer of a believer have a powerful effect... |
