before i got to mike's comment, i was going to say i think it was the scripture of the day, lo e that. by the way folks the third letter in the lo e word...the word that spells who God is, is stuck so i can't write it all the way out. maybe i can say more than like or ly for lo e you or maybe lo*e you? stu offered his extra letters but i can't cut and paste or can I? hummmm gonna try it! |

I read a good deal of these "Scripture of the Day" kind of blogs. What I wish you would, and others, is to continue and explain why you were so taken by this verse.
The "Living Water" of course, is truth. So, it leaves a good deal out when we only place one verse. I hope you understand what I mean.
There is so much of God's Word lost. There really are none here who have such a long life that they can understand it in this fashion. It would take a few thousand years to understand what God is telling us in this fashion.
Jesus, of course was comparing the difference of plain water and the truth.
He knew that the woman had had five husbands and she considered Him a prophet. She did not know God can read our minds. That is how He knows when we are truly repentant. Or if we are a true Christian.
There is so much more in that chapter. I could write a long blog on it myself.
This woman became a great witness for Jesus Christ also. And converted many.
There are so many "pastors" here on MyChurch. Yet, I don't see many of them picking things up like this. It is the job of a pastor to feed the sheep. So, this is a disappointment to me anyway. Do they have to wait until Sunday to help those who are lost in the wilderness?
I know that many read a verse and it sounds so mystical to them. Yet, God is simply trying to sate a fact. A very simple one at that.
I don't mean to interrupt whatever you are trying to conclude, or pass on to others. I just can't understand why people write one verse and that's all. It is God's Word that is masterful. One can look good writing a verse here and one there. But, one can not take credit for a simple verse. I pray I make myself clear and hope you may answer my wonder as to why people do this. |
