The LORD is a warrior; the LORD is his name. Exodus 15:3 Do not suppose that I have come to bring peace to the earth. I did not come to bring peace, but a sword. Matthew 10:34 I saw heaven standing open and there before me was a white horse, whose rider is called Faithful and True. With justice he judges and makes war. His eyes are like blazing fire, and on his head are many crowns…He is dressed in a robe dipped in blood, and his name is the Word of God…Out of his mouth comes a sharp sword with which to strike down the nations. "He will rule them with an iron scepter…"On his robe and on his thigh he has this name written: KING OF KINGS AND LORD OF LORDS. Rev 19:11-13, 15-16 - MEN—GOD CREATED YOU WITH THE HEART OF A WARRIOR.
I looked for a man among them who would build up the wall and stand before me in the gap on behalf of the land so I would not have to destroy it, but I found none. Ezekiel 22:30
THE WARRIOR - EVERY WARRIOR HAS A CAUSE TO FIGHT FOR.
Don't be afraid of them. Remember the Lord, who is great and awesome, and fight for your brothers, your sons and your daughters, your wives and your homes. Nehemiah 4:14 “Fight, and you may die. Run, and you'll live. At least a while. And dying in your beds, many years from now, would you be willing to trade ALL the days, from this day to that, for one chance—just one chance—to come back here and tell our enemies that they may take our lives, [raising his sword over his head] but they’ll never take…OUR FREEDOM!” William Wallace in Braveheart - A WARRIOR WITHOUT A CAUSE TO FIGHT FOR WILL FIND THE WRONG THING TO FIGHT AGAINST.
But Saul began to destroy the church. Going from house to house, he dragged off men and women and put them in prison. Acts 8:3 Men - What is Your Cause?
TWO WAYS THE WARRIOR FIGHTS - SOMETIMES YOU THROW A PUNCH.
You have a spiritual enemy who hates your guts, and he’s coming after you and everyone you love. Men, it’s time to fight. Sometimes the greatest way a warrior fights is on his knees. He fights as a man of God in prayer - SOMETIMES YOU TURN A CHEEK.
Sometimes you will forgive those who hurt you, and you will absorb the pain like a man. Other times, you are going to be humble and fight with love, and you are going to repent of your sins, and lack of leadership, and lack of Godliness, and lack of integrity, and say to those around you, “Will you please forgive me? I have not been the man that God has called me to be,” and you are going to fight like that. Hear, O Israel, today you are going into battle against your enemies. Do not be fainthearted or afraid; do not be terrified or give way to panic before them. 4 For the LORD your God is the one who goes with you to fight for you against your enemies to give you victory." Deuteronomy 20:3-4 Discussion Questions 1) Every warrior has a cause to fight for. During this season of your life, what is your greatest cause? 2) The warrior occasionally must throw a punch. (The warrior must go on the offense.) At other times, the warrior should turn a cheek. (The warrior might “absorb the pain.”) Which do you need to do to win the battle before you?
