I once received a book called Monday Morning Church. It was sometime ago, but the lessons still have left an impression in my life. There's a difference in listening to the message on Sunday, then from learning from the message and even one step further, applying it daily. Pastor Mike put it out plainly how we are authorized and empowered to "SHUSH" the adversary. When our individual "mountains" appear, we only need a very small portion of faith for them to be cast to the sea.
I believe the hardest part is admitting we can not do it alone; pride of being "able to control" everything. Nicotine had me bound, but I admitted to God I was the weak one and I was going to trust Him to remove this from me. I cried from the inside out and He heard me. I even admitted that 30 minutes after my prayer I was going to run back to the store and buy them again. I know it was all Him that released this chain around my hands. Many years later I still remember how He touched and healed me. I was not beaten nor condemned, just released through His love! God showed His incredible love once I got myself in the right position to received it; broken and contrite spirit.
All that the devil has to use against us is already defeated; defeated at Calvary. Have faith in that; the "simplicity of Christ" as Paul wrote. If you know someone that has an addiction pray for them and ask God to guide you in their plight. But remember, there's a deeper part, we must remove us from the equation just as Peter and John did in the book of Acts.
3:3 Who seeing Peter and John about to go into the temple asked an alms.
3:4 And Peter, fastening his eyes upon him with John, said, Look on us.
3:5 And he gave heed unto them, expecting to receive something of them.
3:6 Then Peter said, Silver and gold have I none;
but such as I have give I thee: In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth rise up and walk.
3:7 And he took him by the right hand, and lifted [him] up: and immediately his feet and ankle bones received strength.
3:8 And he leaping up stood, and walked, and entered with them into the temple, walking, and leaping, and praising God.
3:9 And all the people saw him walking and praising God:
"...but such as I have give I thee." What have you heard in the Word? That crippled man heard a lot of messages sitting at that gate, he had to of heard all the prayers. He didn't go to be change, but to get change. Finally, Peter and John after having listening to Jesus now understood all this knowledge and power from God applied it. The man was given love and mercy that had been paid for and freely received in the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth!
Be strong and build the church body of believers! Give as you have been given all throughout the week and watch people walk, leap, and praise God for their deliverance!
Be the church in your community, the most humble Temple of the Most High God!
