This song came about one day as I was driving home from work. There was traffic and I was tired and not in the best of moods. I got stopped at a light beside a car that was playing loud music and the bass was really kickin'. I told God (I always talk to Him while I'm driving.), "I hate that kind of music," and He answered, "I don't." Then I could hear these words going right along with the beat from that car: "Every knee shall bow, every tongue confess, Jesus Christ is Lord, King in righteousness; Every knee shall bow, every tongue confess, Jesus Christ is Lord, Jesus Christ is best!" I went home and wrote the rest of the song:
He began a work that's good in you,
He will make that work complete;
You can do it now, you can do it then,
But you're gonna walk to His beat!
Every knee shall bow, every tongue confess,
Jesus Christ is Lord, King in righteousness;
Every knee shall bow, every tongue confess,
Jesus Christ is Lord, Jesus Christ is best!
He's the light that takes away my dark,
He's the heat that lifts my fog,
If He sees to harm you're getting close
He will shout, "Beware of the dog!"
Every knee shall bow, every tongue confess,
Jesus Christ is Lord, King in righteousness.
Every knee shall bow, every tongue confess,
Jesus Christ is Lord, Jesus Christ is best!

I always try to stay true to scripture in my lyrics, so yes, "Beware of the dog" is in there--check out Phil. 3:2.
Heavenly Father, thank You that You began a good work in me and that You have not ceased production. Thank You that You are carrying that work on to completion to the day of Christ Jesus. Thank You for being the light that takes away my darkness and the heat that lifts my fog! Thank You that You warn me of danger when I get too far away from You. And thank You that there is coming a day when every knee is going to bow and every tongue is going to confess that Jesus Christ is Lord to the glory of God the Father! Amen.
1:6 And I am sure that he who began a good work in you will bring it to completion at the day of Jesus Christ.
