| Day 73 |

The reading for day 73 was Luke 2:1-9:62
The first thing that stands out to me in this section of scripture is Simeon's prayer/prophecy when he sees Jesus in the temple. There is one line that stands out in particular. It is verse 32 of chapter 2 2:32 A light to lighten the Gentiles, and the glory of thy people Israel. Jesus was the glory of Israel but He was also a light to the gentiles. Praise God that He didn't just leave Jesus as the glory of Israel but that He made Him into a light for my people! Not only has He given us light, He has made us heirs together with Israel. He has grafted us into the tree!!
What does the phrase "baptism of repentance for the forgiveness of sins" mean?
In chapter 3, John the baptist says of Jesus; 3:17 Whose fan [is] in his hand, and he will throughly purge his floor, and will gather the wheat into his garner; but the chaff he will burn with fire unquenchable. John said judgement was in His hand. What judgement can be associated with Jesus?
What does it mean that Adam was the son of God?
Chapter 5 verse 16 says "...Jesus Himself would often slip away to the wilderness to pray" (NASB). If Jesus incoporated alone time into His prayer life...what should we do? In chapter 6 verse 12 it says that Jesus spent the whole night praying. How many of us could do that? How many of us could make it 15 minutes?
Most of the rest of what I read was repeat material from Matthew and Mark, so I'm not going to go over it again unless I missed something that you would like me to go over :-)
That was short and sweet :-) |
