| From a full time pastor's heart. Part II |

I had a friend recently ask me to pray for her because she was nervous. She had to give a word of prayer before a large gathering. I explained that I am nervous each day that I have to speak God's word before his people. It is such a tremendous responsibility and sometimes I feel so inadequate leading God's people. There are some discouraging times and painful moments but faith leads me on to work at preaching the gospel. I had a classmate tell me that she has no faith whatsoever! It is a statement so far from my realm of thinking I was stunned. I wonder, however, how many other's are like that out there. I came across this quote while researching and it speaks to my heart today. “We the unwilling, led by the unqualified, have been doing the unbelievable for so long with so little, that we now attempt the impossible with nothing.”
The world may see our faith as nothing but to us it is everything. 11:1 Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. 11:2 For by it the elders obtained a good report. 11:3 Through faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that things which are seen were not made of things which do appear. |

[star!] | AWESOME. I struggled with my faith for years. Sometimes it was so strong and I was so confident I could move mountains. Then there was a long period of time where I couldn't move a cotton ball. I know God did some moving to get me at a place where I will let nothing or no one define my Faith and Relationship with God. It's bigger than a Mustard Seed.!
I LOVE THIS.......“We the unwilling, led by the unqualified, have been doing the unbelievable for so long with so little, that we now attempt the impossible with nothing.” ......AMEN

[star!] | Amen Jerry. I deliver the word to a small gathering of elderly ppl w/Alzheimers at least 2 Sundays/month. Plus I teach a Sunday school class to 1-2 graders. In both situations I still get nervous. You're right, it IS a big responsibility, no matter who we're sharing it with!! |

Terry, I have had those days also where it seemed I couldn't move a cotton ball! That gave me a chuckle, but I know just what you mean.
Mike, That is a tough task. My dear mom suffered from AZ. Terrible disease on the person and the family!
Evangelist, Isn't it so gratifying to be used by God?
Kathy! Thanks for the star my dear friend. I think you know the person I am talking about in this blog. |

[star!] | I understand about feeling nervous... I was blessed to be the Prayer Chapel ALD for a retreat held for teenagers. My job was to pray for the speakers... to pray for them before they gave their talk, and then after their talk.
The retreat was three days long, and I was praying for Pastors as well as Lay Directors. At first I could hardly speak, so then I prayed for myself. God took over and I hardly remember the rest of it. It was just beautiful and Holy.
I love you, Jerry. |
