Two thoughts Birdie, one is that Rms 12:1-2....being not conformed to the world but transformed is our spiritual worship (reasonable service)...secondly, I think of the verse in Jude where it basically says it is our responsibility to help others into holiness:

22 And on some have compassion, making a distinction;[a] 23 but others save with fear, pulling them out of the fire,[b] hating even the garment defiled by the flesh.

The key is to know when compassion is needed and when a good kick in the behind is needed. Not always easy but we pray for them and love them and speak the truth in love.  Anyway, Jesus said if we love Him we would keep His commands and His commandments are not burdensome if we really love Him.  Like the old Hymn we used to sing..."when we turn our eyes upon Jesus, and look full into His wonderful face, then the things of earth will grow strangely dim in the light of His glory and grace.   I hear and and give a loud AMEN!

Thanks for adding those points, Brother Todd! As I was reading this 'Scripture of the Day' I thought--wow--you really don't get the full implication of how serious an issue this is to God unless you read it all the way through in context. When we turn our back on the Word of God we have:
"...spurned the Son of God, and profaned the blood of the covenant by which he was sanctified, and outraged the Spirit of grace"

Those are some serious charges. I would rather someone give me the truth in love rather than sit back and watch me suffer the consequences of "outraging the Spirit of Grace". What kind of love would that be? Jude 22, 23 says it exactly!

Thanks for the stars and notes of encouragement Joyful and Pandabear! I love you guys!

Amen, Birdie.  I've been waiting on a blog from you for some time now.

Like you, I want to be corrected in the spirit of love and truth.  This is how I try to encourage my loved ones.

Thank you, ever so much.
I love you!

Thanks Joey! I love you too! I try to develop transparent relationships and stay "correctable". That's how I learn. The goal for me is not "what I want" but "what does my Father want." I don't always get that right, but I have a few friends that aren't afraid to set me straight. I respect them even more for that, don't you?
