I love the Book of James

4:1 What causes wars, and what causes fightings among you? Is it not your passions that are at war in your members? 4:2 You desire and do not have; so you kill. And you covet and cannot obtain; so you fight and wage war. You do not have, because you do not ask. 4:3 You ask and do not receive, because you ask wrongly, to spend it on your passions.
What a picture James gives us of what happens when Christians walk in the flesh instead of following the Holy Spirit. This is what the world does. Unfortunately, so do many Christians.

Some churches are hotbeds of fights and quarrels. Instead of walking in the love of God, people live by a "me-first" attitude that naturally keeps them in the flesh realm. There's no peace on the inside or with other people.

God has given us a much better way. Our faith works by love, so we follow the Holy Spirit instead of letting our flesh lead us into fights and quarrels. When we have needs, we believe God to meet them. We don't fight, we use our faith!

And we have the tremendous promise from Jesus in Matt. 6:33, that if we will simply seek first the Kingdom of God and His righteousness, all the "things" we need will be added to us, not by fighting but by faith in God.

We serve a God of abindance. Bring him your needs today, pray and trust Him, and begin thanking God for the answers even before you see them in the natural. Praise releases God's power, but fighting just keeps Satan involved in the situation.

I call you BLESSED today in Jesus' Name!

I'm glad I read this because yesterday my sister wanted to start a fight
and I refused to be a part of it.  I stay calm within myself.

There are times in my own life that I know are not for my understanding. I just need to listen for the guidance and doing that. Knowing when I should be standing up for myself in confrontations or when to let go to let God handle a situation is dependent on me letting the Holy Spirit in me guide me through situations. If I try to figure out all events that happen in life and depend on my own will to guide me, it just leads me to stress beyond my abilities to get out of. Letting go of situations and let God handle them does release my responsibilities to it all and stress goes but then there are times that I see that the Holy Spirit inside me does guide me to take actions. Following the Holy Spirit inside us is key. Pastor Rose, the story you once shared with us about the person drowning waiting for God to save them, but didn’t take the action of reaching for the boat and helicopter that God sent really hit home. The Holy Spirit inside me will tell me when to take action and when to just let go. It isn’t always one or the other. Asking and then listening for the answer is right on.

I'm still reading the Book of James.  It comforts me to know that my
sister has no right to interfere.  She is living in the flesh and I am living in the
Holy Spirit.  It's all about the money.  Doctor appointments costs more than
buying a car.  I'm glad she left out my tithing to SOF which she thinks
is ridiculous.   She will never know how much I tithe or what I give to those

who appreciate living in the love of God.
