This morning I found myself rereading the blogs that I used to write here on MyChurch.  I must say that I am humbled at some of the words that I have shared with you all.  And I am even surprised to say that a lot of these words still ring true for my life today.  The following post I wrote on December 26, 2007 (about a year and a half ago).  I share it with you this morning, not just for you, but for me - to remind me of what I have shared.  I have changed over these past few years, but it has been for the better.  More to follow soon.  Until then, please read this.  Have a nice day.

Jesus,

I have come along way in my life.  I have seen many candles be lit and then extinquish in the middle of the night.  I have seen thousands of stars in the sky over the oceans of the world. I have been in the desert heat and in the winter's snow.  I have had many friends come and go, but one friend remains faithful and true and that one is You.  No matter where I have been and where You are leading me, You have been there through it all.  When I fell and when I rose back up again, You were there.  During the lonely nights where I cried my heart out, You heard me and You wiped my tears away. 

The truth tonight, though is that I am scared for the future.  I know that You said in Your word that we should not fear, but I do.  I fear the unknown.  I look all around me and the plans that I once had are now diminishing dreams.  The stars in my skys are fading. The tears from my eyes keep flowing.  I try to ignore this pain within, but I can not.  I must fully rely and trust in You to see me through.  For You are still here.  You have seen me at my lowest points and You have cheered with me when I have succeeded.   For nothing I could have done on my own, but because You have helped me through it, I can lift my head up and smile. 

Lord, You know and see my fears.  The deepest part of my heart in which I hide from all living human beings.  You know the prayers and dreams that I do not dare to mention out loud to any man.  For I know that it is only through You that these prayers can be answered.

This path that You have called me down to travel is getting harder and darker.  There were times where I have strayed, but You have always brought me back to where You wanted me.  You have never left me.  For this I give You thanks. I love You. 

Guide me to the places where You want me to go.  Have Your way in my life.
