22:6 Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it. ABSTINENCE The only 100% effective way to avoid having a baby is to not have sex. Abstinence is the most effective method of birth control and many teens choose this option. For some, this means not having sex until they're married. For others, it can mean different things, like waiting until they've found a committed partner who they feel comfortable with. Lots of people are practicing abstinence these days, whether or not they've had intercourse in the past. Half of high school students have never had sexual intercourse. In fact, the majority of teenagers, even those who started having sex when they were younger, think teens should wait until they're older. When it comes to sex, you need to decide what's best for you personally -- don't feel pressured into having sex just because others are. It's important to feel that you're ready before you start having sex.
FACTS ABOUT ABSTINENCE - NOT everybody is doing it. Less than half of teens reported having ever had sex as of 2005.
- Teens do not think it is embarrassing to say they are virgins. Almost three-quarters of teens don't think it's embarrassing to admit being a virgin.
- Most teens who have had sex wish they had waited. Almost 70% of teens regret having had sex as early as they did.
- Teens are eager for a strong abstinence message. Ninety-four percent of teens say they want a strong message to abstain until at least after high school.
- Teen males' approval of premarital sex is declining. Guys are less and less accepting of casual sex - the proportion of adolescent males aged 17-19 who approve of premarital sex when a couple does not plan to marry decreased from 80% in 1988 to 71% in 1995.
- College freshmen are less likely to approve of casual sex. 60% of college freshmen disagree that hooking up with a casual acquaintance is okay.

WHAT ARE TEENS SAYING ABOUT ABSTINENCE? - I'm not having sex and I wouldn't want it any other way. I don't need sex to make my life complete - it's just fine without it.
-Kelly, Virginia Beach, 17 - I decided not to have sex again until I get married or I'm with a girl I know I'm going to marry. I'm what you call a 'born-again virgin' and I'm fine with that – I don't need the pressure of regret or the worry of maybe getting a girl pregnant.
-Rob, San Francisco, 17 - Call me a traditionalist, but sex is something special. If a guy went around giving a rose to every girl and then to you, you wouldn't think much of it. But, if that guy had never given a rose to anyone before and then gives one to you, you feel special.
-Angela, Houston, 16

[star!] | I'm actually pleasently surprised by some of these stats. I have many friends who waited for their wedding night to have sex, and they are the ones who have the best marriages (and likely healthiest and most fulfilling sex lives!). You'll never hear anyone say they regretted waiting! |

Thanks Guys for the comments, call me a little actvist or whatever, God knows exactly what He is doing, i have never had sex and i am 40 years old, there are somethings you can learn just by paying attention, I have come across so many young ladies with so much emotional baggage and heartache and all of the where would i be questions, and the children are neglected and mistreated for no reason at all, i love children and teens too much for people to maliciously lead them down the wrong path because of anger and bitterness that they carry from a decision they made too soon, it is funny when i hear people say, i didn't like this done to me or my brother or sister or watching my mom go through it but they turn around and do the same thing to someone else's mom, sister, or brother.
Thanks again guys please share with everyone who has teens, works with teens, and every church you can touch. Stayteen.org comes from the show The secret life of an American Teenager, it is an awesome show, i don't agree with everything but it does depict a typical teenager and how the enemy is crafty enough to blindside them, i will forever believe Knowledge is Power, and that God does not raise typical teenagers because He is extraordinary He raises extraordinary teens.
Be Blessed |

| God is so AWESOME that He will take word that we use often in the Church and use the teachings of an english teacher in a public school and show you a word within a word, remember how we were taught to look for root words inside of words, i found a word that just solidifies why our children and teens should say no, watch this; we use the word Anointed all of the time and we say that our children and teens are anointed to do a great work in the kingdom. right smack dab in the word Anoint is the word NO, when God showed me that i started singing the word and made the devil mad when i started teaching that to our teens at my church and not just teens but anyone who would listen because NO just doesn't fit when it comes to sex but for everything God has told us not to do and people are trying to force us to do. So this is what i preach and teach "No is an Anointed Word |
