Psalm 37 Don't fret because of evil men or be envious of those who do wrong; for like the grass they will soon wither, like green plants they will soon die away. Trust in the LORD & do good; dwell in the land & enjoy safe pasture. Delight yourself in the LORD & he will give you the desires of your heart. Commit your way to the LORD; trust in him and he will do this.
Genesis 25: 27 The boys grew up, and Esau became a skillful hunter, a man of the open country, while Jacob was a quiet man, staying among the tents. 28 Isaac, who had a taste for wild game, loved Esau, but Rebekah loved Jacob. 29 Once when Jacob was cooking some stew, Esau came in from the open country, famished. 30 He said to Jacob, "Quick, let me have some of that red stew! I'm famished!" (That is why he was also called Edom. ) 31 Jacob replied, "First sell me your birthright." 32 "Look, I am about to die," Esau said. "What good is the birthright to me?" 33 But Jacob said, "Swear to me first." So he swore an oath to him, selling his birthright to Jacob. 34 Then Jacob gave Esau some bread and some lentil stew. He ate and drank, and then got up and left. So Esau despised his birthright.
Keep your eyes on God today and no one else. God is amazing. He can do cool stuff with your life. Look to Him alone. Talk to Him alone. He is right there. Your enemies cannot defeat you because greater is He that is in you than he that is in the world. God loves you. PERIOD. And He wants you to sit and dine with Him. Keep it really simple. God looks at your heart, not your performances. Don't be like Esau by selling your birthright (Genesis 25). Your birthright proves you are blessed of God and highly favored. Your birthright proves you are mighty in God. Your birthright proves God has your BACK. Esau sold his birthright for food. With his birthright, Esau would have received all that belonged to Isaac (Abraham's son). Plus, the promises that God made with Abraham would have followed him. However, Esau care more about physical things, like food.
Don't sell your birthright for drugs, cheap sex (fornication), anger, bitterness, lack of forgiveness, hatred, clothes, food, lust, adultery, violence, abuse, lies/deceptions, godlessness, theft, etc. Keep your birthright, so God can stay close to you. Your birthright is JESUS...the One who came so you can have life abundantly and eternal life.
