"Becausee you trusted me, I will give you your life as a reward. I will rescue you and keep you safe. I, the Lord, have spoken!’”
Our family has tried to steadfastly trust in God’s ultimate plan for our collective lives. We do believe that God has rescued Preston and given us his life as a reward. Now, we will trust even more.
It’s been a great Saturday. Preston has been content. He continues to improve physically. The therapist came by at 9:30. We put on Preston’s ‘fast’ shoes and got him in a sitting position on a wooden bench. He was able to support himself for very brief periods. He was able to stand that position for 25 minutes. Our therapist today, Tara, is so sweet to him. Through all of the pain and struggle, Preston has remained a sweet, loving little boy.
Preston ‘removed’ the bandage from his donor site on his left leg. He said he needed to ‘itch’ it. I was a bit freaked out; because I thought it was supposed to stay on until totally healed. I called the nurse. When she saw the site, she exclaimed, “Wow that looks great.” It is almost totally healed…the POWER OF PRAYER.
Another occurrence this morning. I noticed Preston was looking into the corner of the room to a batch of red balloons with a big Thomas balloon in the middle. I asked what he saw. He did not answer, as he was deep in concentration. I asked again. I then said, “What color do you see?” He replied, “RED”…now I don’t know if it was a lucky guess, but it sure did seem real…PRAISE GOD…all of you know this has been my biggest fear in the past month. I do believe God will heal his vision, I just get impatient. God may have let me peek through the door a bit this morning.
The Ladies Night event at Peninsula Baptist Church was great. I met so many folks who came out in support of Preston. I must issue a special THANK YOU to Elizabeth Green. Elizabeth took this project as her own. It was a huge undertaking , considering her plans with volunteers and decorations and donations, etc. I can’t even begin to show the deserving gratitude for all her work. Also, thanks to all the volunteers who manned tables, greeted guests, made pictures, fixed snacks, etc. There were so many folks. I tried to speak to each one, but I know I was unable to personally greet each person. THANKS from the Loyd family.
Last night Cinamon and I went through some of the envelopes and donations from the event. We are overwhelmed at the generosity of all our church and community. Some folks did not sign their gifts. Other folks we may not know exactly who you are. Well, this is a THANK YOU to each of your for your generosity in our time of trial. The prayers, support and love make us feel God’s presence in a very personal way.
Items for prayer:
- Return of perfect vision and visual clarity. This will stay on the list until my precious boy looks and me and says, “Daddy, I see you”
- Continued miraculous healing of internal injuries.
- Continued healing of all plastic surgery related wounds.
- Great progress in Preston’s therapies. He is making great strides. Pray he is able to stand the work and press on to full activity again.
- Wisdom of doctors in determining when we should go home. We want to be home as soon as possible, but also want to be where Preston can make the most improvements quickly.
- Continued prayer for our entire family. We are still so in need of prayer.
- Pray for one another. We need to maintain our worldwide prayer revival. It will make the world a better place.
Bless all of you for keeping up with our journey. We love you and pray for you daily.
In His Arms and Believing,
Ashton
