| PATHWAY OF TRIUMPH |

2:20 I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ who lives in me; and the life I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me. Listen carefully, please. The path of the Cross is not to be mistaken or misunderstood.
It isn't intended as a habit of commiserating over life's tough stuff, while muttering, "I guess it's just my cross to bear."
It isn't a life of religious self-denial, pretending that a prudish, self-styled piety is what God calls for.
It isn't a dour pathway that touts suffering and defeat as the ultimate expression of true holiness! Never!
The Cross is the pathway of surrender and of refusal to be dominated by selfishness or carnality. But beyond it all, at the bottom line, the Cross is a pathway of triumph! Jack Hayford |
