I am praying for many people today. I pray for those who live under all the titles associated with alternate lifestyle and for those who show hatred toward them.
My struggle with these issues is very different. I live under intimidation that people may perceive me as being any of these. Though I am masculine, trained to fight, and willing to do anything God wills me to stop evil, protective of family and friends, fatherly, and confident in my position as a MAN,... I admit, I have a sweet and soft nature. I speak of love at every opportunity and say I love you to anyone,... all the time. And sometimes people say things like,... "you know, Preston, when I first met you I thought you were gay". This bothers me,... not because I am without sin, but, because I teach people the Truth about God, the world, and life. And if people would think that I could be sexually active and yet unmarried, then my work for the Lord is diminished. I say this only because there are a couple of truths from Gods' Word that I just can't get past. I believe that sex is a blessing "only within a marriage". There is no other passage that suggests, hints, or clouds the fact otherwise,... and that marriage is between a man and a woman. Again, no gray area in Gods' Word. So, just within those two simple truths, what more thought have I toward the matter? Because I am not married, I am not "free" to have sex. Do I love women and men, yes, but not as much as I love God.
The other thing I can't get past is science. Not the science of men, but in the design of the human body. When we study the human body, we quickly learn that some body parts used in the sexual activities performed under these titles I mentioned, were intended for reproduction, while the other parts are clearly intended for,... well let's just say they have OTHER purposes. And here, I have to ask myself,... what is it that draws our attention to the most unsanitary parts of each other, and my answer is,... It's not God. Our bodies have many places of intimacy and we can see by His design that God did not intend for us to use other parts of each other which spread disease and harm each other the way we do. These forms of intimacy are rightfully called alternative lifestyles, because they do not line up with the perfect design,... and they push the boundaries of Gods Word. Not that He is ready to cook the person that's doing it, but because He has a better lifestyle and never meant for anyone to settle for alternatives of any kind.
More importantly, I believe the burning desire to love and be loved is designed deep within each of us and it's purpose is to be filled by the designer Himself. Any attempts to satisfy these cravings we are talking about with anything other than God First, only end in sorrow and futility. After man has accepted God and allows Him to fill this burning desire to love and be loved, then He (Christ) is free to fulfill our needs,... His way, His timing, within His design.
Now about the hatred toward those who live under these titles is a more important issue.
1 John 4:20 If anyone says, I love God, and hates (detests, abominates) his brother [ in Christ], he is a liar; for he who does not love his brother, whom he has seen, cannot love God, Whom he has not seen.
There is a lot of Hate in this world and many people think that hate is winning right now. I'm telling you that it is not, my friend. While God has allowed it to run free, He has measured it's time here, long ago. It's on a short leash. It's time to do what it wants to do has always been measured precisely by God and that time is nearly up.
Revelation 22:3 There shall no longer exist there anything that is accursed (detestable, foul, offensive, impure, hateful, or horrible). But the throne of God and of the Lamb shall be in it, and His servants shall worship Him [pay divine honors to Him and do Him holy service]
Now, listen to the incredible strength that Love has.
I Corinthians 13 4. Love endures long and is patient and kind; love never is envious nor boils over with jealousy, is not boastful or vainglorious, does not display itself haughtily. 5. It is not conceited (arrogant and inflated with pride); it is not rude (unmannerly) and does not act unbecomingly. Love (God's love in us) does not insist on its own rights or its own way, for it is not self-seeking; it is not touchy or fretful or resentful; it takes no account of the evil done to it [it pays no attention to a suffered wrong]. 6. It does not rejoice at injustice and unrighteousness, but rejoices when right and truth prevail. 7. Love bears up under anything and everything that comes, is ever ready to believe the best of every person, its hopes are fadeless under all circumstances, and it endures everything [without weakening]. 8. Love never fails [never fades out or becomes obsolete or comes to an end]. As for prophecy (the gift of interpreting the divine will and purpose), it will be fulfilled and pass away; as for tongues, they will be destroyed and cease; as for knowledge, it will pass away [it will lose its value and be superseded by truth]. 9. For our knowledge is fragmentary (incomplete and imperfect), and our prophecy (our teaching) is fragmentary (incomplete and imperfect). 10. But when the complete and perfect (total) comes, the incomplete and imperfect will vanish away (become antiquated, void, and superseded).
Finally, I must say that both of these issues separate us from time with God. I find people everywhere preoccupied with self pleasure and/or hate and the smoke from these two fires rises up as a stench to God, while Jesus,... the whole way,... is interceding,... Praying for us,... covering our sins from the eyes that never sleep.
I love you,... all of you. And I am praying for all of us to dig deeper into Our Creators message to us. Consider all that just the texts themselves have endured for so long and the impact His Word has had on so many and then search for yourself the mysterious and wonderful truth for yourselves. That He may fill you,... "live" inside you, and that you will live more abuntantly. Yes,... and Amen.
I love you. |
