The following is a message from Jonathan. He clearly states that his IMMEDIATE need, is cash!! He has sent me his contact information, so please e-mail me if you are willing to help this family.
He also states he has a need for Hand Controls. That will cost about $600, plus the cost of the course. My wife sells pampered chef, and will be setting up a fundraiser just for this need. She is donating all of her commission, plus whatever funds are raised to this, so please pray about contributing to this, along with, or seperate from, your cash donation, or if you feel uncomfortable sending cash. It will be set up online, so that all of your church, friends, and family can help raise these much needed funds. More will be posted on this soon.
Another option may be paypal...just message me and we'll go from there.
Zach
Hi Zach, Thanks for calling me, but it seems I'm not really up to the task of phone calls right now. My brain knows that whatever happens with Vicki is God's will, but my heart has trouble with the current reality.
Vicki has been my caregiver and transporter for a long time now, so there are two things that we need very quickly: homecare and transportation. Concerning home care, any maid service will do, but it seems to me that paying a local christian worker would be cheaper and preferrable, but I'll leave that up to you. As for transportation, the cheapest alternative for the long run would be for me to get hand controls and drivers ed, then I could drive for both of us.
Unlike Vicki, I'm in relatively good health, not withstanding the wound on my left ankle. So with hand controls and the mandatory driver's ed that is required to get my driving license, I would be able to do all our driving for us. Hand controls cost about $600 installed, and I'm not sure what it costs for the dirver's ed course. In lieu of that, cash would help a lot for my immediate needs for bandages, missed work, and ongoing restaurant expenses (we do not allot money in our budget for dining out).
I've never had anyone offer to help before so I don't really know what to say. I can't make my bed or do laundry, but I can cook and do my personal hygiene. If I had hand controls, I could drive our van (after I learn how to get in and out by myself on the driver's side). Vicki will not be able to do any housekeeping when she returns. I'm exhausted. I stay at the hospital as much as I possibly can to be with her, but it makes my wound worse and my legs swell up, my back hurts, and my diet goes crazy ( which is not good with my incontinence ). So I'm continually striving to maintain a regualr diet and sleep, but I just can't do it. I'm tired. I'm just so dang tired.
Please forgive me for not returning your call. I will in the next few days I promise. Jonathan
