| 2nd Coming Not Understood By Men |
|
| |
25:31 "When the Son of man comes in his glory, and all the angels with him, then he will sit on his glorious throne. The Second Coming of Christ will be a glorious event. That we know. Notice, however, that Jesus didn't give details about His Second Coming -- just a few simple facts. He is coming. Angels are coming with Him. He will sit on his throne. Much about the Second Coming is a mystery and should stay a mystery. Jesus said that only the Father knows when the Second Coming will be. So why should we try to figure out something that only the Father knows? Why should we speculate about the details? Why should we present our opinions about something so mysterious? Many people preach or write about the Second Coming and present their own ideas and opinions as if they were facts. This is very dangerous Even when details are presented in popular fiction (ie. Left Behind series) they lead people to believe certain ideas and doctrines that may or may not be true. The fact is that God hasn't revealed much detail about end times. Sure some people say that Daniel and Revelation contain the details. They may, but both of those prophetic books are full of mystery. Nobody understands them, yet many people claim that they do. People break God's mysteries down into simple "end time" plans and then preach and publish them as if we were facts. Here are the facts. Jesus is coming back. Let's repent, live right, and seek His face so that we will be ready when He comes. |

| The second coming of Christ ain't no mystery....The Word of God is FULL of scriptures concerning it...God does NOT want it to be a mystery...That's why He talks about it in HIS BOOK...The Bible..and that is not fiction! |

"...as if they were facts." Those who extrapolate from the biblical text and claim as fact what the bible speaks of in obscurity only discredit their ministries, unfortunately. Although God has revealed much by way of prophecy, he left out specific dates and many helpful details. I believe the humble approach is to accept that there is much we don't know, and to follow the advice you give in your closing line: repent, live right, and seek His face so that we will be ready... How can we go wrong with that? |

All the Prophets and Apostles told of Jesus return....Certainly not about the exact day..but of the account of Jesus Kingdom being here on this earth. Even Gabriel told Mary before Jesus was born that He was to sit on the Throne of David and rule forever. Anyone who studies the Old Testament & and the New Testament would know about Jesus returning to set up His Kingdom.....Man unfortunately have been lied to and told that they will be raptured up to heaven when Jesus comes....Straight up lie....Can't justify it no where in the Bible.
The comments to repent, live right, and seek His Face is a true statement indeed...Because when Jesus comes back He ain't coming as a Lamb...He's coming as the Lion of the tribe of Judah and He shall be waging WAR on all those that are not His.... |

Brother Steve, He's gone to prepare a place for prepared people.
14:2 In my Father's house are many mansions: if [it were] not [so], I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. 14:3 And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, [there] ye may be also.

| Debbie: When I was a new Christian, the book, The Late Great Planet Earth came out. I didn't know Scripture very well at that time and I read and believed that book from cover to cover. However, the more I read and learned the Bible, the less I believed many of the ideas presented in The Late Great Planet Earth. I couldn't find many of its teachings in Scripture. That taught me not to blindly accept the teachings of men without going directly to the Bible for myself. I, too, have noticed many people accepting the ideas of Left Behind as if they were Bible ideas. If it a doctrine or spiritual teaching isn't clearly presented in the Blble, we shouldn't follow it.. |

| David Koresh and the whole Waco event showed me the importance of knowing God's word. I agree that much about the end times remain a mystery and give prasie to Jesus for His glorious gift of salvation. Good blog, good thought. |
