I've just had my brother Tor and his wife Cielito over from Norway for six days. It was a surprise visit and very nice, it's a year since I last saw them. Cielito is a miraculous answer to prayer. Four years ago she had a very aggressive form of cancer. The doctors decided to give her all the treatment they could think of, as she was fairly young, but could not guarantee that it would help. A lot of people were praying for her, my church, her church, friends in other churches, the prisoners I write to. Two nuns from Mother Teresa's fellwoship came to see her and pray for her. After a while the tests improved, and she has now been cancer free for more than a year, praise the Lord. It was a tough time for us all, but it was so good to see so many people united in prayer for her, and it's great to see her now, working full time and leading a normal life. She is grateful to be alive. It has been really lovely to spend some time with them both, visiting old friends, relaxing, shopping for gifts. And I enjoyed my new mobility scooter, which made it possible for me to come for walks with them. Another answer to prayer, I got it the day before they arrived! It's good not to be totally housebound anymore, and so nice to be able to get around a bit without pain! I'm still dependent on lifts to be able to get to town, but I can get around in the area near the farm where I live. Tomorrow my church is in London for the day, for a Jesus march (we're expecting 1500 people to take part), and a meeting in Trafalgar Square. We're believing for a fruitful day for the Lord. I can't go, but I can certainly pray! I hope you're all OK and being blessed by the Lord. I'm thinking of you. |
